Proviso East point guard Jacob Pullen, considered one of the state's top prospects, has narrowed his college choices to Oklahoma, Kansas State, Dayton, St. Louis and Alabama-Birmingham. Even though his mother works at Loyola, that wasn't enough for the Ramblers to make his final cut.

Jenna Richardson (Walther Lutheran HS, Bellwood, Ill.) was impressive in her first collegiate match. After dropping nine of the first eleven games, Richardson won six straight games to even the match and send it to a third set super-breaker. In the super-breaker, she jumped out to an early lead and fought off Jamie Durkee for a (2-6, 6-3, (11-9)) victory at number six singles.
