CRIME, allegations against Rick Bryant [D209]

Nikita Johnson, District 209's business manager, filed a complaint with a Forest Park police officer. The following is the text the officer wrote.

On the date of 31 Aug 2006 at 1703 hours I arrived at 8601 W. Roosevelt Road and talked to Johnson the business manager at the facility. Johnson stated that between the above dates [27-30 June 06] Angela Jackson an employee in the main office removed $2603.65 in registration money from the schools safe to give to Mr. Bryant the school's principal. During an interview between Johnson and Jackson, Jackson stated that she personally gave Bryant the money to take to Proviso East high school. Bryant denies ever receiving the money from Jackson from a statement obtained by Johnson. As of today's date the money is unaccounted for and no further information could be obtained.

While no one from District 209 is saying if this is the reason Bryant was suspended, it seems like a reasonable inference that the police report filed after 5 PM on Thursday was the event that precipitated Bryant being suspended by Dr. Stan Fields on Friday.

Yesterday Proviso Probe had a discussion of the situation.

I can't believe Bryant "stole" any money. First, he's not that kind of guy and second he makes probably $100,000. Why would he mess with $2603.65. This sounds like a trumped up charge. I think the admin. was not happy with the way the school was running and they needed an out. This was convenient. I too was at the meeting. All the things the parents complained about are true: no books in some classes, no equipment, subs, a general mess. Proviso is the only school that could mess up a small school like this. Now PMSa is planning yet another change. They are going to change all the schedules so that the school goes back to an 8 per. day. Hell, the teachers union told them their old schedule was a mess. They don't listen. So now, the kids may have new teachers and some new classes. This is the FOURTH week of school! By now the kids are used to their teachers and classes. Mon. all will change. I hear they lost a few kids from last year. I bet next year they lose a lot more. BTW..did you see the article about PMSA sports in the Pioneer Press? Even that's screwed up. Close the school, cut your losses and run.

Enough with Bryant! Bryant didn't do it! Welch used Brynat long enough to get the magnet school open and now he will throw him out like yesterday's garbage. It is apparent that Welch has set Bryant up because Welch was pissed with him at the last board meeting. Welch is blaming Bryant for the statements made by the Forest Park parents. Welch does not think that the parents and citizens of Proviso have the intelligence to speak out against the atrocities in district 209 schools, because Welch and Alexis Wallace arrange and plant people to speak at board meetings. Welch and Wallace have always orchestrated and bribed people to speak out against their criticizers at board meetings. Wallace is notoriously known for egging parents and others on to speak against other board members and staff. That is one of their oldest tricks in the book, but it will and has begun to back fire on them.

Wallace is the adminstrator that should be under a microscope. She is running Proviso West like a concentration camp. She is unprofessional, smutty, unrefined, and just plain boorish. BUT SHE SURE DOES LOOK GOOD IN DRAG!

Welch needs to resign from the board of education, and Wallace needs to start looking for the next club to perform at....the show must go on GURL!

The D209 board (Chris Welch and followers) are upset that Dr. Bryant and Mr. Moyer ran the school so well. They aren't used to seeing anything run that smoothly in the Proviso High Schools. The kids and parents know that Mr. Bryant wouldn't steal a petty amount of money from the school. He has too much class for that. So, one of Chris Welch's lazy dogs probably waddled his fat self downstairs to the PMSA office to collect it. After all, the way that they run the district, they probably needed a couple of grand to pay off someone.

Rick Bryant will be a better person for not having to come back to this travesty of a school district. It is too bad, but the kids and parents are the losers in this deal. Once again, politicians are going to make sure that our kids don't have anything better than what we had growing up.

And, we know why Chris Welch hired Dr. Stanley Fields to be the Superintendent. Fields was a slash-and-burn Superintendent in his last district, and he will do the same for Proviso. he will fire anyone who does their job the right way instead of the Proviso way.

Kids in Proviso Township High Schools, stand tall and take your schools back. Chris Welch has played games long enough with YOUR future!
