Proviso Township has a number of weekly newspapers that arrive on Wednesday. What articles struck you as important? Why?

* Suburban Life
* West Proviso Herald
* West Suburban Journal (arrives Thursday)
* Westchester Herald

BTW anyone else get the feeling the Pioneer Press papers are overdosing on 9/11?

Pioneer press has turned into a randy,dandy newspaper with nothing of substance or of value. Also the Suburban life has become extremely weak!

I have written extensively about the inadequacies of thePioneer Press but they just keep getting worse. The ONLY folks who buy these rags are those extremely active in the respective communities they serve, those who like all the ads/garage sales etc and a few for their high school sports coverage. By and large they cover next to nothing about Maywood in the Maywood Herald with similar results, I imagine regarding other towns so-called local editions. There used to be a place between the huge metro papers like the Trib and TImes and the major sub-metro such as the Southtown Economist and the Maywood Heralds, but economics and whatnot have made the Herald a joke. Do we really want to read a letter to the editor in the MAywood Herald from a resident in Skokie praising the local "save the spotted ocelot"?
