ECON, how much does Jackson charge for product endorsements?

Cynthia has ripped Jesse Jackson, Sr. for recording radio advertisements for the utility companies, like ComEd, to make it sound like Illinois was getting a good deal by allowing electric companies to gouge consumers.

How much did ComEd have to give Rainbow/PUSH to get Jackson to pitch rate increases to WVON listeners?

Or does Jesse Jackson think that the most pressing social justice issue is helping ComEd squeeze customers for an extra $5-40 per month?

Can we now dismiss Jackson and Rainbow/PUSH as "has beens"?

  • Jesse Jackson loves to shakedown unions for contributions to Rainbow/PUSH.

Maybe it's time consumers contact unions and tell them to cut Jackson off. If he wants ComEd money he can go speak to ComEd executives.

  • I find it very disappointing that some of our leaders are actually supporting ComEd's rate hike. It just doesn't add up. I'm no genius, but why in the hell would anyone believe ComEd will spiral into bankruptcy if it doesn't raise it's rates on January 1st. What happens so dramatically on the first of the year where ComEd suddenly begins losing $3 million a day as it is claiming. If they have been able to sustain throughout the course of this 9 year rate freeze, how could their predictament be so that it would start losing millions of dollars per day that their proposed increase doesn't take effect. They're doing nothing but lying. It obvious to me that they have been licking their chops waiting for this time to come, and they're not about to let anybody get in their way, even the all mighty Mike Madigan.

It's amazing that Speaker Mike Madigan is the one standing up for the massses instead of Rev. Jackson, Rev. Sen. Meeks, or Senate President Emil Jones.

  • Jesse Jackson is simply a whore. If there's a spotlight for him to stand in, he'll be there.

He needs to go take care of his "love child" and go to church!

  • I think he has out lived his usefulness. He need to be put out to pasture.

  • Pamela says: Years ago my husband worked for Cook County Police at the cook county jail. They were on strike. Jackson came in to mediate. Asked the union for contributions and basically conspired with management to screw over the union. Since then I haven't thought too much of him

  • Pamela: Don't forget about when he came in to mediate for some Black people who wanted a beer distribution and they called Jesse Jackson in to negotiate and he came out with a beer distribution for his son.
