PO-PO, Forest Park PD soap opera [FP]

The Proviso Probe entry on Ed Reformado's lawsuit against the Village of Forest Park generated an unwieldly number of comments (almost 200). So I've started a new thread for discussing the soap opera that is the Forest Park police department.

Let the brawl begin!

144 Comments:

  • A consensus seems to have emerged in the previous discussion that Chief Jim Ryan looks like he's persecuting Dan Harder when he fires Harder to excessive sick day usage, but doesn't discipline Weiler for fixing parking tickets.

    Thoughts?

By Blogger Carl Nyberg, at 6:18 PM, April 20, 2006

  • There was some complaining about what's off topic or not.

I try to be liberal (or is it lazy?) and not delete comments for being off topic. I think I've done it a couple times, but it really has to be egregiously off topic.

I've noticed that ForestPark.com has a bunch of posts attacking others for being off-topic or not spelling correctly. I'd rather not have a bunch of that on Proviso Probe. I find it makes the discussions hard to follow.

  • Somebody posting as "du stdnt" concluded with "Once outside, witness accounts I have heard back up Officer Gross's report."

I'm curious where a Dominican University student would have gotten a copy of Gross' report.

By Blogger Carl Nyberg, at 6:28 PM, April 20, 2006

  • Let's consider the results Ken Gross achieved in his response to the incident at Duffy's.

    1. Gross got himself battered out of a situation that was petering out when he arrived.
    2. Gross used large amounts of force to apprehend Reformado, who prior to Gross arriving had only committed the offense of drinking under age.
    3. The Village of Forest Park is being sued. And worse the village has to put up with Jeanine Stevens. I suspect much of the village's leadership consider Stevens the most annoying lawyer they could envision facing.

So it seems hard to consider Gross's police work a success in this case.

If Gross stands back and says, "Forest Park police. What's going on?" the whole incident is likely avoided.

    Gross doesn't get hit.

Reformado doesn't get beaten or Tasered.

And Forest Park doesn't get sued.

It boggles my mind that some people are trying to claim that Gross engaged in effective policing.

Reformado and his friend drank under age. They got into an argument in a bar. The argument escalated into a minor scuffle and Reformado and friend were helped to leave Duffy's. By the time Gross arrived the fight was largely over. Reformado's antagonist was leaving.

But when Gross injects himself into the situation it becomes a major melee. Cops are supposed to de-escalate situations, not be a source of volatility.

  • Carl,

With regards to parking tickets, all we've heard from Bbones is that the FP cops are so upstanding. If they are so upstanding why the hell are they fixing each other's tickets. And another thing, Ryan fires Harder for sick days but let's someone get away with deleting tickets. He's talking out of both sides of his mouth.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 8:17 PM, April 20, 2006

  • How bout identifying yourself as an officer? That would be a good start. Oh, I know Gross said he did do that, let's believe him because he has a nice shiny badge.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 8:57 PM, April 20, 2006

  • WTF, how would a DU std get a gross's report? Good question,,,either bbones is the du std throwing out more shit or Mr. Policeman investigating this incident is sharing a little too much info to get what from his witness?

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 9:04 PM, April 20, 2006

  • Carl, Thank u baby for making a new post. Ya know a du student didn't get Gross's report. That's the fool bbones. Nothin more than a racist, hatin sob justifying their bad deeds.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 9:54 PM, April 20, 2006

  • How would any of you nimrods get any of the story straight. You're all a bunch of cop hating racists. Stop your nonsence and calm down now.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 10:16 PM, April 20, 2006

  • Listen open fly, stop your nonsense. Stop trying to defend your blue man group. Stop bending over for your buddy Murphy. You and that piece of crap bbones are cut from the same mold.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 10:25 PM, April 20, 2006

  • Man fp fbi sounds like Weiler should be looking for a new job. If you are a good guy associated with FPPD, you may not last long there anyway. Get while the gettin's good.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 10:30 PM, April 20, 2006

You wouldn't be a lieing, citizen beatin, ass grabbing, sexual deviate cop from FP, would you?

...and Bb/Hosty try putting a period at the end of your sentences, idiot.

  • Proudrep,

I have the hardest time even capitalizing his name, jim ryan, let alone calling him a chief. This rendition of management is such a disappointment. My only fear is that in reality nothing can be done until a new election because of his relationship with mayor quimby. Even then, who knows? Forest Park taxpayers are the ones that will suffer the most from his lack of management.

Whether or not they continue to sweep these incidents under the rug, one thing is apparent, police misconduct and brutality will rear its ugly head again. You would think the mayor would have learned by now. History has a way of repeating itself if not corrected.

Unfortunatley there is such a divided group that the attention and focus of changing this mindset may never come into fruition.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 10:46 PM, April 20, 2006

  • Fly, here's the buzzzz

I'm not a cop racist. Take the time to read the 184 comments on the previous posts. My brother is a police officer.

If you are going to come here and generalize posters at least take the time to read first.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 10:51 PM, April 20, 2006

  • Proud republican said no one cares about grammar or spelling errors but can I help fly out (not criticize).

FYI nonsence is nonsense. See we can disagree but remain civil. I'm very calm. Thank you for your concern. It makes me feel like you care.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 10:55 PM, April 20, 2006

  • I guess the brain surgeon calling us nimrods, misspelled nonsense. Thank you for helping him fpres. That is more than I could every do for that loser bbones.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 10:58 PM, April 20, 2006

  • Do You think the Mayor has paid for the parking tickets he has gotten.

fp fbi, where can one get information on upaid tickets that mayor quimby owes? should we contact the CIA?

Carl would you be able to find out, that could make for some interesting reading?

I remember channel 7 broadcasted a bit on City officials/employees that owed a large amount of money (combined) for parking tickets to the City of Chicago. I do remember them also showing some city officials getting the boot.

Government inefficiencies never cease to amaze me. So if they can erase records, it would be a cakewalk to falsify reports.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 11:09 PM, April 20, 2006

  • I don't want Weiler to get in trouble. I don't want another police officer to be berated by a less than adequate manager. That doesn't seem right at all.

Maybe Weiler should see a lawyer, if jr gets out of hand with his employment at FPPD.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 11:17 PM, April 20, 2006

  • Brain surgeon? Who said anthing about brain surgery. A mispelled word and the best you can do is brain surgury. I was thinking more like a rectal insert might suit you more to stall the crap you are spewing.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 8:16 AM, April 21, 2006

  • Open fly we don't care about your love life and your like rectal insertion, that is your own private matter, please keep it that way. You retard.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 8:37 AM, April 21, 2006

  • The information that has been provided came from the very mouth of your chief via his harder's hearing. Are you calling your chief a liar.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 8:40 AM, April 21, 2006

  • My cheif? How is he my chief. This supports my contention that this is all about asswipes

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 8:56 AM, April 21, 2006

  • Because we don't like FP's method of police using excessive force, police misconduct, police lieing and cheating your resort to your little limp dick word asswipes. You need to wipe some ass down there and fix the real problems in the FPPD and stop using the taxpayers money for attorneys, you punk ass piece of crap.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 9:09 AM, April 21, 2006

  • Contention means argument, strife, debate. You state its your debate that we are asswipes. I've never been in a debate to argue whether or not someone or persons are asswipes. One would have to prove that. How would you prove that? I don't agree with you. I am not an asswipe. I do however, wipe my ass.

This should make for an interesting debate, hopefully this is not a reflection of your intelligence but rather a misuse of a word. (Just giving you the benefit of the doubt.) Considering the fact that you do not know me at all.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 9:19 AM, April 21, 2006

  • Simple little minds again dodgeing the question. How is he my chief your moron.

He's not my chief how could he be when I don't even work or live there. I just find it comical that a bunch of lunatics write on here about some of the most absurd junk I've seen.

Stay in touch with yourself now and calm down man, calm down

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 9:38 AM, April 21, 2006

  • He's not my chief how could he be when I don't even work or live there. I just find it comical that a bunch of lunatics write on here about some of the most absurd junk I've seen.

This is about FP PD soap opera. I find it comical that a person who does not live there would chose to write in this particular blog. We are obviously talking about FP PO-PO. You may have missed the title on the blog but hey that's OK you are entitled to stay off topic, just realize your own lunacey is not affecting us.

Why are you even writing here if this is not your town.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 11:24 AM, April 21, 2006

  • I have heard your blogsite described as "splintered, chaotic and therefore useless" now can understand why.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 12:17 PM, April 21, 2006

  • Guess, lightheaded won't be coming back Fraz, two confusing for her, guess english wasn't her favorite topic. One less useless person loggin on here. Good to see bbones/hosey back and his Sybil personalities too. The jester has now left the building.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 2:10 PM, April 21, 2006

  • ProudRep, as we have agreed, a few officers with no manager have gone awry. Not funny just sad.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 2:15 PM, April 21, 2006

  • Carl,
Regarding you question about where I may have gotten Gross's report. You posted it on your site: http://provisoprobe.blogspot.com/2006/03/po-po-individual-beaten-by-forest-park.html
That is what I was quoting, people have such short memories around here.
    Was this an accidental oversite?
Or are you just looking to stoke the fire?

Starting with open fly - bbones

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 7:01 PM, April 21, 2006

  • That was a summary, not Gross's report. No short memories, just fax. Read it again. This time try not to combine your own opinion in it.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 7:03 PM, April 21, 2006

  • Who is bbones?

Do you think he is I?

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 7:04 PM, April 21, 2006

  • Bonecrusher,

Everytime we have a nice conversation about the irresponsible officers, more of their friends come out to play. They do have problems with comprehension and facts but we just think is a big game. Let's see what they'll cover up next, even better who will they blame next for their FPPD mistakes. Will it be an attorney? Will it be a victim? Will it be Carl? Will it be the Review?

flyonthewall if this is too crazy for you why come back.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 7:11 PM, April 21, 2006

  • I could careless you you are openfly.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 7:12 PM, April 21, 2006

  • Openfly, maybe bbones is your younger brother, he is sort of a maggot.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 7:15 PM, April 21, 2006

  • Fly if your not from Forest Park and do not know anything about what is going on -- why do you care so much to keep returning to this specific website to make statements about Dan Harder?

What do you know of Dan Harder?

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 7:18 PM, April 21, 2006

  • To Du Std: You misquoted the site when you stated: "Once outside, witness accounts I have heard back up Officer Gross's report."

That is not what the site said specifically word for word. No one here has a short memory. These discussions have been going on for nearly a month. You misquoted by adding the following, I have heard back up Officers Gross's report in quotes.

I know as a reader it seemed a bit confusing since you added your opinion in quotes.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 7:26 PM, April 21, 2006

  • Carl,

I went back and read a few more quotes from your original posts. I noted the following from Weiler's report, which is interesting, specifically number 2:

    Offense/incident report Forest Park Police 1. Case # 0803-00879
    2. Unusual Jail Occurrence 3. Injured Prisoner

    2. Unusual Jail Occurrence - Hmmm, I wonder what that means.

Also, you are right, there are no statements on this website stating once outside witneses accounts backup Gross's report. This was definitely a misquote by someone trying to offer a tainted perspective of what you have written on this website. Could it indeed, be a short memory?

ProudRep -- the jester is now in the room.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 7:40 PM, April 21, 2006

  • The maggot has turned into a fly. How liberating? I knew this worm would fester his way back in here. He can't stand to be away from us.

    What a freakin idiot?

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 7:51 PM, April 21, 2006

  • The passage I am refering to does not say it is summary. Carl says he is quoting excerpts from the actual police document.
I am a student at DU as were most of the witnesses so I've had a chance to talk to people who were there and saw first hand what happened, yes this is hearsay, but I have also shown them the March 10 post and they agree with what Gross has on that report. That is not my opinion. The witness accounts I was speaking of were these, if i was unclear in my earlier statements, sorry.

I was hesitant to join this discussion. I wasn't there, but I know quite a few who were and heard practically the same account from other students actually there that night. I am so glad to see my hesitation was so unfounded.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 7:53 PM, April 21, 2006

  • Bbones, that's a good one I bet you look cute in a skirt.

I was hesitant to join this discussion. I wasn't there, but I know quite a few who were and heard practically the same account from other students actually there that night,

IF YOU WEREN'T THERE, IDIOT THAT IS MORE HEARSAY. Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha

Call the chief, he can use you as his star witness. A person that wasn't there who heard. Join Bbones as a groupie of HERDERS, he is the biggest HERDER!!!! LOL

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 8:02 PM, April 21, 2006

  • Dear DU Stnd:

I have excerpted text from the Forest Park Police Department's official documents.

Carl said, he excerpted text, which means the report was not verbatim. Sometimes, when things are discussed, especially third or fourth person down the line, meaning is loss or added. While your opinion is just that, other people have their own as well. Unfortunately, since you weren't there or anyone else for that matter its not gospel, its still hearsay. Now, I know you wouldn't want to repeat things that you are not sure of as being actual events that occurred since you cannot account for them. Thank you for your insight as to what some of your friends or associates have said. That may or may not necessarily make them "reliable" witnesses" or "reliable sources" for that matter. Please feel free to continue to express YOUR opinions.

    What year are you in?

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 8:11 PM, April 21, 2006

  • So do you think the Chief will ever own up to all the police brutality and excessive force that is used against alleged offenders or prisoners? Do you think that the crime of brutalizing a prisoner will ever have consequences in Forest Park? What do you suggest is an immediate remedy for the FPPD problems that have been occurring since 2003? Any suggestions.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 8:15 PM, April 21, 2006

  • Your questions are rhetorical questions since an answer cannot be given at this time with the current Administration, as stated before. Everytime someone brings up this Administration (Mayor Calderone, Commissioner Hosty, and jim ryan) it makes me ill. The crooks get more crooked worse everday. Continual lies about what developments will get approved and won't get approved. Then a poster (probably a cop) states, Murphys, Cody's and the Mayors tickets are fixed all the time. Yet we the public who are lessor than them should pay or else.

I feel like the Cubs fans maybe next year.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 8:26 PM, April 21, 2006

  • I guess an intelligent discussion of this incident is now, ... out of the question. Almost all of you have resorted to sophomoric name calling and nothing more. Du Student acknowledged his witness accounts amounted to hearsay. However, he has spoken to people that were there. He, thus far, is the only poster to come onto this site with statements from eye witnesses. And you really smart folks dismiss him and continue with your name calling because he points out The Police appear more credible than Reformado. I now think you are all related or friends of this YOUNG, DRUNK, PUGNACIOUS, STREET FIGHTER.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 8:29 PM, April 21, 2006

  • TGIF Peeps, I see cockroach came back w/Sybil. Shoot ya all see that letter written to the Review
'bout depressing children. Even our own children are suffering from the racism that exists in Forest Park. The FPboard had the nerve to belittle our little ones. Talk bout us expecting their handouts. I tell you I hope God heard every bad word spoken and takes the matter into his own hands. They made fun of Debra Cole asking for basketball nets to be put back into the park. What the hell we got a park, if it isn't for the kids. Just because some po-pos and some people don't understand the African American culture don't mean they have to treat our children like bastards. I'm with proudrepublican this Administration makes me feel ill.

Who do we thank for the removal of basketball nets. They talk bout gangs infestin the parks, well then do something. Don't take the nets away. You think that's gonna stop gangs?

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 8:34 PM, April 21, 2006

  • I read the comments, they were evil. At least one person set the record straight about families in need. There really is no excuse for the racism that does exist. I also hope God takes that into consideration upon letting that person into heaven. It would be nice to think she wouldn't make it because she was to worried about an extra peanut butter and jelly sandwich. That's a funny thought that may cheer you up AuntB.

I do get the feeling that some people are just so uptight and edgey. One could only hope that the children are too busy playing to notice the ignorance of some prejudice neighbors.

More like hearsay from witnesses, get it straight Bbones. We know it was you all along. You do have continuity with your mis-spelled words. Perhaps you blacked out and another one of your personalities came out -- DU std, is that you?. Go back to your Board!

Entertaining though. Ha,ha, ha, ha, hee, hee!

The Oscar goes to Bbones for creativity.

  • FPResident,

Ya know, nothin bothers me, cept when they mess with the children. I can take pretty much anything cept that.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 8:47 PM, April 21, 2006

  • AuntB,

You have been calling this along - racism. I do agree with finding the daddy's that fathered some children and making them pay but what do you do when those father's can't be found or are dead. Those services are really needed. I do realize that some people abuse the system but what are those that really need the services to do.

Debra Cole was right for writing that letter. It's ashame people are more interested in criticizing the grammar than to help out.

Hard to believe that people would laugh at what they perceive is poorly written letter, never mind a child of the United States may be starving. Real upright citizens.

I do hope the Lord comes quick and administers justice swiftly.

  • I haven't AuntB, too busy with kids, school and home. We are remodeling one of our bathrooms ourselves. It's taking much longer than I had anticipated. We completely gutted the thing. We layed down the tiles tomorrow we are installing new sinks. I just want to quit and say hire somebody but we can't give up now, we are half way there.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 9:11 PM, April 21, 2006

  • I read the article and was wondering what she is talking about. I have a child in middle school and see the busses running all the time. According to the Review article the schools have no reason to deny lunches, free or reduced, because they get reimbursements based on the number of children on the program.

As far as the Park goes,.. have you seen the number of kids there for Little League, Soccor, the Pool, during the 4th of July, at the No Gloves Tourny or there on a saturday or sunday just playing a pick up game of ball? I think the Park does a great job. I really do not see where she is seeing this. I know as well that from time to time kids get a break when it comes to the LL fee.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 9:15 PM, April 21, 2006

Listen, have ya been to the jazz place, yet? What's it like?

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 9:16 PM, April 21, 2006

  • Pete H, I can only hope so. I have never needed the services that were mentioned by Ms. Cole but I sure would want them to be there for families that may need them. Thank you for letting me know about the buss services. I drive my children to school, we have are own set of problems with the congestion.

Could it be that maybe she lives to close for bussing services?

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 9:21 PM, April 21, 2006

  • auntb,

    I think proudrepublican is gone.
    Talk to you later.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 9:30 PM, April 21, 2006

  • The article mentioned they have to live more than 1 1/2 miles away. Not sure where she lives. I have taken advantage of reduced lunches over the years, but not in this district. As I recall, the registration forms asked if you wanted to be considered for the program. If we checked yes we got the forms to apply.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 9:31 PM, April 21, 2006

  • Financially speaking, sometimes just being over by a dollar can hurt a family's chances of receiving a reduced lunch.

    I have to go now.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 9:42 PM, April 21, 2006

  • I truely believe that Calderone and his minions of Gillian and the others are responsible for the break down of civility in our home town!
Gillian believes he can do whatever he wants and comes across as an arrogant a#&*h&&%e!Instead of admitting that he is offended by Calderone's actions along with Ryan's! When Gillian is drinking he becomes beligerant and yells"I"ll get you guys"'"just wait and see during the next election"!
Calderone is just a rat's ass, who thinks he is Tony Soprano, and wants and has gotton rich as Mayor of our town!
I don't know about you guys, but if you want to have our town resemble Melrose Park or Maywood, continue supporting Calderone and Gillian, but if you want us to look like Oak Park, let's vote these bums out!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 10:24 PM, April 21, 2006

  • I want our town to look like Forest Park not Oak Park, not Melrose Par, not Stone park. I want us to find another niche besides the perceived bar scene. I like what is being done with the shops and restaurants. I would like to see us more united and accepting of diversity without an underlying tone or wink. I hate it when people feel like they are wearing thier underwear in a bunch everytime race is addressed.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 10:47 PM, April 21, 2006

  • Why would Gillian be offended by Mayor Calderone?

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 10:48 PM, April 21, 2006

  • Just curious, just livin, how would you know what the least of Cole's worries are? Deborah Cole spoke her mind, the same freedom that allows you to come here and spout off.

You don't know what its like to walk in somebody else's shoes. Stop assuming you can cover all the basis with your free ride speech.

Obviously there are kids that missed lunch, why we don't know. Assume everyone wants a free ride. I don't buy that either. Who's responsiblity is it for lunches, the parents of course but if the school district promises free lunch or reduced lunch than that's what they should get.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 1:47 PM, April 24, 2006

  • Nothing in Life is Free.
Not even Lunch at the Middle School.
We, the tax payers are the ones that have to provide for the children of negligent parents who forget to provide for the depressed children they can not seem to find after school activities for.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 1:07 AM, April 25, 2006

  • We, the tax payers are the ones that have to provide for the children of negligent parents...

First of asshole, let me say I pay taxes too and that I am not a negligent parent. You underlying tones indicate (in your uppity white fashion) nigger get off the welfare and pay for your kids lunch and do something with him after school. I'm saying you are a fuckin idiot because I am not on welfare and I do pay for my kids lunch. Just because you are a white racist doesn't mean you are the only one that pays taxes. Here's another clue those programs are set up for single income families or families in need. What makes you think your speech of I pay taxes and you are negligent parent covers those extenuating circumstances for all people? Are you judging? If a family is in need that doesn't necessarily mean that they are negligent. Peter H your have more issues than free lunches, its called racism.

  • There is no monitoring, if you don't have the balls to say what you mean, then get the hell out of here. You have no problem being a racist, just offensive language, stop talking out of the both sides of your mouth. You are not Carl's web police go back to the board you stuck up **tch!

  • You come on here condeming Ms. Cole for writing her letter but you can make all the accusations of her being a negligent parent, what gives you that right. You must really think your something well your not -- get over yourself lady. You are not as well behaved as you pretend to be. Go ahead and laugh about depressed children, it isn't has funny as you think. I'm glad someone will be judging you just like you judge others. What happened if your husband died, or lost his job or you went bankrupt? What then, do you want people laughing that you have to go get free lunches for your kids because you ran out of bread. The $5.50 hr job didn't cut it especially with gas and rent prices escallating. What a joke you are -- to think you know every situation.

You talk about Ms. Cole having issues, when in reality you have the issues. You are asking for more than conformity. You are saying families in need shouldn't ask for help, let their kids and them starve. -- How dare they look for a free ride? or are you saying nigger stay where the hell I put you and don't get up until I say so and don't expect a hand out from me. You just lucky I let you live in Forest Park. How dare you write a letter -- what gives you that right?

Please lady save your pretentious mannerism for the father at catholic church, he may absolve you but God won't. Give me a break.

  • Or is all the edginess of Forest Park got you so full of anxiety that you can't wait to get on here and show everyone you are tired of simple black folk who you perceive to be taking advantage of the system -- you have the right to talk to them anyway you chose. They are not educated enough to know what your talking about or to understand your underlying tones of demeaning expressions. Your sick of them bringing down your property values and expecting you to raise their kids and you are going to let somebody know about this.

So many things are wrong with this scenario and way of thinking it isn't even funny, its sick, pathetic and one step away from wearing the white hooded masks. So coming from you, about my language, I laugh -- at least I haven't lost my soul to bigotry.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 5:12 PM, April 25, 2006

  • Let's all calm down. There are two sides to every story. There are single families in need and there are also people that take advantage of the not so free things in life.

The free lunches or reduced lunches are set up through the school district using tax dollars to fund the lunch programs. Pete H and Living in FP, perhaps your issues of your tax dollars should be addressed to the appropriate parties at the school district, then at the State level and then at the Federal level.

If you do find that at the State level you can reduce your taxes so that you are not paying into the free lunch system, please let Deborah Cole know so that she can use her tax money as well to pay for lunch for her children. This would be a win-win situation.

If you find at the Federal level you can reduce your taxes, please let me know so that I can buy that BMW I have been eyeing.

  • Free things in life - now Pete H and Forest Park Living -- don't use these services/government programs, my tax dollars are going to them and you or your family shouldn't be entitled to them because I said and you aren't needy enough.

    Public Library
    Public Parks
    Lake Michigan
    National Parks
    Public Schools
    Public Forest Preserves
    Lincoln Park Zoo

If you want to see a park, draw trees, you ain't renting books out of my library that my taxes pay for - buy your own books and if you want free education in a public school system it won't be on my dollar.

Racism keeps you mind closed and your eyes blind.

  • Outsider,
The point I was attempting to make was this. I have my own children. Because they are mine, I must provide for them, clothe them, shelter them and feed them. I do not expect anyone to do this for me. If I forget to send my children off to school without his/her lunch I do not think they should get one for free. That is my point.
My family was on the reduced/free lunch programs more than once. We qualified for and took advantage of the WIC Program when our kids were infants. I do not equate Welfare to Ethnicity. The fact that you do, is interesting. I heard once that when a persons vocabulary sinks to profanity and is essentially reduced to name calling and finger pointing, they know they lost the argument but have no way to respond intelligently. Is this the case with you. Your postings quickly went south.
Oh, and yes, if your kids are depressed because they can not find anything to do with themselves after school, get off your lazy ass and find something for them!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 10:51 PM, April 25, 2006

  • Also, Outsider,

Those programs are NOT for single income families. Only those families with the need. You do not get these programs just because you have a single income.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 10:59 PM, April 25, 2006

  • Peter H and Living in FP it was stressed family in needs with single incomes not the same but sometimes have the same characteristics. Get over yourself people, you are racist but will fight to the end to try to defend your conscience. I don't think your reply can be any more childish. . . I'm not you are, I know you are but what am I, if the shoe fits where it. Shut your pie hole and talk to somebody who is impressed with your rants - I'm not. Also, let it be known that if a white family is needy than hell yes they are entitled to a free or reduced lunch depending on their needs. Pete H and Living FP you were the ones who said people in needs were negligent parents. Now you are here to get me to justify what I said. I know what I said.

Comment made by living in FP
I am not racist, but hey if the shoe fits wear it! (I guess her shoes fit). My question also to Ms. Cole was why is she only targeting Black kids, what about the white kids. Maybe she is the racist one. (maybe, more accusations) You don't know Ms. Cole, her situation, others situation all you throw out is a lot of assumptions based on sterotypes.

  • Did'nt Tim Gillian push for Mr. Parilli's wife's firm along with Eugene Moore's firm to go ahead and take over the Insurance for the Township? Was it not Gillian and Sloan who pushed these two insurance firms down the Township's throat and the taxpayers of Proviso are now stuck paying for it? Read this article about Mr. Parilli, it is interesting that the Republican Party is outraged by these guys antics, but in Proviso and in Forest Park Mr. Parilli is an honored guest! Thanks Tony and Tim for making Forest Park and Proviso a cesspool of incompetent, corrupt, and lying place to live, where we honor dubious people and give these folks are hard earned tax money, eventhough they are not qualified to clean our toilets!!!Just because they are your friends and you two think it's ok,does not mean it is!
Remnants of former undersheriff James Dvorak's political operation are
re-surfacing in Cook County these days and threaten to wreck havoc on
hard-fought gains made the past two years against the entrenched Democratic
establishment. In 1988, Dvorak unseated Cook County Chairman Don Totten in a
surprising reversal. Totten, you may recall, was Ronald Reagan's presidential
    campaign manager for Illinois.

Not long after his victory over Totten, Dvorak was forced to step down as
undersheriff on charges that he was accepting bribes from mob sources. Later
Dvorak pled guilty-from jail-to hiring ghost payrollers.Don Sloan and Jim Parrilli, Former
Proviso Township Republican Committeeman and one of James Dvorak's chief allies
during the late 1980's and early '90's appears intent on bringing back James
Dvorak's glory days of political mischief and questionable practices.

In the 1980's, Parrilli and Sloan admitted to wrongly using public resources to solicit
political contributions, as reported in the Chicago Tribune (4/2/1985). Judy
Baar Topinka, a sitting State Senator during the scandal-plagued Dvorak days, at
that time opposed Parrilli's re-election as Proviso Township Republican
Committeeman, but Sloan backed him and between both of them they beat Topinka's slate (Chicago Tribune, 12/10/1989). Despite their questionable
association with Dvorak and checkered past, Parrilli managed to win the 19th
Ward Republican Committeeman's race on Chicago's Southwest side in 2004 with Don Sloan backing him and winning by only 11 vote margin.
On Wednesday night (April 19, 2006), Parrilli was running for an Illinois
Republican Party State Central Committeeman's seat at the Cook County organizing
convention, and he initially lost to incumbent George Preski. Cook County
Chairman Gary Skoien ruled twice that a proxy Parrilli attempted to submit was
not valid and was not timely cast. After continued pressure from Parrilli and Sloan
the late arrival (in person) of the proxy grantor (Committeeman Helen Cashman
from Mike Madigan's 13th Ward), Skoien resuscitated Parrilli's bid by allowing
Cashman to confirm her votes for Parrilli, and Skoien then accepted the disputed
proxy, which had been altered. Skoien's ruling erased Preski's lead and
tentatively gives the spot to Parrilli, subject to review by the State
Republican Party. Commissioner Tony Peraica and State Treasurer Judy Baar
Topinka cast their weighted votes against Parrilli and Sloan.

Parrilli and Sloan are also at the center of a challenge to Clark Pellett as the sitting
Republican Chicago Chairman. An ally of Topinka, Pellett was in his own battle
on that Wednesday night, but he was eventually supported by a unanimous vote.
Pellett who is a Life Member of the Republican Party (Eisenhower Commission) and
a Sustaining Member of the Republican National Committee is also a Presidential
Roundtable member. He gives generously to state and local Republican
candidates, according to State Board of Election records, and is a member of the
    NRSC's Inner Circle.

By contrast, Jim Parrilli's State Board of Election contribution records show
that he has apparently never given money to any Republican candidate. More
shocking is that just 8 months ago, in August of 2005, Parrilli was a
contributor to Democratic State Representative Kevin Joyce (D. - 35th District)and Eugene Moore and Chris Welch.Don Sloan also has given money to Democrats, such as Chris Welch,Eugene Moore,David Irleand, and others, but has given only token amounts of $25 to $75 dollars.
-even though Parrilli was a sitting Republican Ward committeeman and Don Sloan is the self proclaimed Head of the Republicans in Proviso!

"It appears that our Democratic "friends" have found new ways to snarl the
Republican Party-with scurrilous attempts to thin our ranks and reverse our
progress," said Pellett. These conflicts, stoked by the likes of Parrilli and Sloan,
simply waste our Republican time, energy and resources-much to the benefit of
Rod Blagojevich and his Democratic cronies. We need to guard against more
challenges coming from these people or we will see our hopes dim for Republican
    victories in November.

Is it because he did not support there election? Where were Yarbrough, and her husband?

  • Just asking DOOLIN, what is your point?

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 1:20 AM, April 29, 2006

  • From the Chicago Tribune editorial

Ryan has claimed all along that he did nothing wrong, and that he knew nothing about the crimes of his compatriots. His evident attitude toward his own corrupt acts mirrored the phrase his lawyer frequently used during the trial's closing arguments: "Who cares?" Twelve jurors cared. Twelve jurors, acting for the 12 million people of Illinois. Twelve jurors devoted to the notion - plainly novel to Ryan - that citizens are entitled to the honest services of the public officials they elect to office.

    Lead Prosecutor Patrick Collins

"Whether you're the dogcatcher or the governor, you are elected to do work for the citizens," said lead prosecutor Patrick Collins in another post-verdict news conference. "This duty of honest services is not something it takes someone with a law degree to understand. Public officials have a duty of honest services; that is, to serve the people and not their private interests. And anybody who hears this, if they want to serve their private interest, they ought to go get a job in the private sector."

BTW, I thought the Mayor's Secretary was Michael Murphy's wife. Out of all the qualified constituents in Forest Park, couldn't he have found somebody else to be his secretary. Someone that didn't have the gift of gab.

Its embarassing to hear the gossip that comes out of the Village by a secretary who in turn is related to one of the most brutal police officer on the force. Do you think that 8 years as mayor is not enough? Or do you favor Mayor for life status for Calderone?
Do think it is right for our Mayor,to get involved in other towns elections?
Hey Pugs, I don't care if our mayor is having an affair or is gay, what I do care is to have a mayor who does not plan to get rich off our town and a mayor that does emulate the mayor of Melrose Park and thinks that to be a good mayor is to govern like Melrose Park!

Otherwise, its easier to hide corruption, backroom deals, illicit sleazy friends to come work for your, buy loyalty, and cover all your tracks. 4 years is plenty to do your dirty work. 8 is slaughtering the dirty pigs and hanging them out to dry. I guess the Young Drunk didn't expect his friends to tell the investigators "He must have been really drunk to act that way."

I guess the fact that from inside the bar, looking out the windows some 20 feet away, people could tell the man he struck was a Cop blows the young drunks claim out of the water.

I guess, by his friends account, 3 and a half hours of drinking in the bar left little Eddy a little drunk.

I guess his martial arts training had an effect as he "Wildly fought off the cops"

I hope his mom didn't spend a lot of cash on a retainer for the lawyer they hired.

Most likely the investigation won't hold up in civil court. The Village of Forest Park is not the civil court, far from it.

Haa,haaa, Bones did you really think this would be a surprise. A police sex offender heading up an investigation to investigate his drinking buddy cop that has mob ties.

  • This investigation was fixed and everyone knows it. Again, the only report that matters is the one the judge stamps in civil court. Forest Park will never admit to police brutality, it does them no good. If they admit to one, they would have to admit to all and that would cost big money. Rather or not the police smelled alcohol is irrelevant to police brutality in civil courts. Its a good thing Ken Gross admitted to backhanding him while in handcuffs.

I hope Forest Park's insurance companies can continue to foot the lawyer bills, its my understanding that they hired another lawyer, is he overseeing your other lawyers. Hahahahahha.

  • This guy Harder called in sick and was not sick. Period the end.

If you call in sick you should be home sick, on your way to the doctor, on your way to the pharmacy or on your way to the hospital. Nothing more nothing less.

Harders poor excuse really destroys his credability.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 5:54 PM, May 27, 2006

  • Harder call in sick? You got to be kidding he wouldn't do something like that would he?

  • Oh here we go Judge Carl.

    Come on now!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 6:04 PM, June 16, 2006

  • Carl has every right to censure posts here simply because it's his blog.

Frankly Carl the truth may hurt.

This whole Harder saga has certainly taken several spins but when you listen to Jeanine's witness's what you here if you listen close is clearly "I Think" or "I believe", very little if any fact.

But for a activist journalist there is no accuracy in reporting of the real truth.

A liar is a liar plain and simple.

The other collateral charges only seek to further enhance the argument that Harder is much much less than truthful plain and simple.

Once a cop lies he/she can no longer but trusted or trustworthy in a court of law.

Chief Ryan should have no reason to hate or retaliate against Harder but when the ship is sinking so to speak as in Harder case the only argument he and his attorney can do is attempt to attack the character of the chief. It fails lousily although it has been a good try.

I don't buy it. Facts are Facts.

  • Where is Reformado's law suit?

    I know up someones ass.

Knew it was bullshit from the start

  • The judge was very rude and disrespectful to the African American people. I just don't understand how the judge sleeps at night. He judges people incorrectly. Just remember judge that you may be in the position to judge people now, but God will judge you later. The judges display a total lack of disrespect and are so unprofessional it's terrible. Court lasts up to 3 hours just to listen to everyones case while the judge makes silly jokes while wasting tax-payers money to harrass the people who pays his salary. Just remember, "what goes around, comes around."

  • This is for all of you who think you know Dan Harder. You don’t! He is a sick, controlling man. I feel sorry for the people that come in contact with this man he is evil. He is poison. He will do what ever it takes to get what he wants. He never cared about being a police officer he manipulated innocent people and ruined their careers. Life happens, and Dan Harder thinks it’s a game. Well I hope the game is over, and I hope Dan Harder looses, although he has already lost I know. I hope the people he has used and abused are able to rise above and go on. Dan Harder prides himself on his psychology degree, I think it is time he see a shrink.

  • If Harder's personality is so screwed-up, how did he survive the first 15-20 years on the force with the only discipline being for vehicle collision?
