N06, Steele won't replace Stroger, yet

This morning the Sun-Times (Steve Patterson) blared that Commissioner Bobbie Steele would replace Stroger as President of the County Board.

But it didn't happen. See NBC-5.

  • COM. STEELE DOES NOT HAVE THE VOTES TO TAKE THE SEAT FOR A PERIOD BEFORE THE ELECTION. WHAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH WAITING UNTIL HE GETS WELL AND KEEP THE CONTROL IN THE DEMS HANDS. HERE WE GO AGAIN ALL OVER.....MAYOR WAHINGTON PERHAPS?????

  • It appears that Mrs. Steele wants the Presidency anyway she can get it. She was very upset with Congressman Davis for pulling back his support for her. He now supports her as interim president. Let's watch and see what happens in "As the County Churns."

    I'd much rather see Mr. Forrest Claypool as the president. Since Stroger is now strickened, let's have some fresh air, sunlight and young legs.

  • Commissioner Steele is trying to save face now. I saw a news clip of the board meeting and she was saying how she is a ethical person and she doesn't want to take nobody's job. The problem is she only said that after it was obvious that the board was not going to do anything. She was already quoted in the newspaper as acknowledging and welcoming the proposed crowning of her as interim president. She even said that Congressman Danny Davis called her and gave his support. She seemed ready to assume the position. Then all of the sudden today she's acting as if she has so much class. Well, if she had so much class, she would have never mentioned herself as a person wanting to take the seat of her supposed ally Mr. John Stroger. She could have used her voice to stand behind him instead of adding fuel to this media frenzy. The whole thing is disrespectful, and she as well as Danny Davis ought to be ashamed of themselves.

  • Did you guys see the picture of Alderman Beavers with the reverands and other individuals in there group? Well standing next to them was our own 209 Board president Chris Welch!
    The question one has to ask is , what was he doing there? I heard through the grapevine that he is working pro - bono with Storger's group to assist them if there is any legal actions or manuveurs done to try to replace Stroger.
    I also heard that Welch is on the short list to possibly replace Michael Scott at the Chicago Board of Education. Yes,it is true, Mr. Welch is currently sellinh ihs home in Hillside and rumors have it he is moving into Chicago(South Loop area).
    Incredible, but true!

    How do we know the situation isn't being manipulated by his family and inner circle for their advantage?

  • It seems that the black commissioners cannot get it together AGAIN! Did they learn anything from when Harold Washington died. PERICA will win the election in November. The black politicians will be divided and PERICA will slip right in. There is the Stroger camp, Beaver Camp, Steele Camp and probably future camps will pop up thinking they can do the job.   • Chris is not moving out of town for a free Board spot in chicago. The real hidden secret is that he has been trying to lobby for support to run for the Mayor spot in Hillside. He has met with african americans in hillside along with the brother of Mr. Ryzell McKinney, Who is also his fraternity Bro. Another quiet meeting took place with another hillside resident who works at Prviso East, Mr. Brodi Faris. The other slate Mate will be Mr. Criner. Thats the contractor welch brought into D-88 to rack up bucks on the Lincoln school project. See Mr. Welch has been really busy locally and wants us all to be distracted by his constant pop-ups in the city. Forget it chris!!! the women in your life talks too much thats how this little hidden secret in your life has come to the surface. After all that Tamburino has helped you with. Oh. I forgot.   • This is not new to the community of hillside. In fact if you tirn back the hands of time and remember the racial profile charges against the Village of hillside, thats when Welch surfaced and put in his bid for the Mayor`s seat. He has spent the past six years building up relationships with a slate that he can control. The names you mentioned are right on the money and there is one more who works in SD-88 also who is a resident of hillside. Rumor has it that he has also been trying to get a meeting with the director of Cease Fire, Mr. Hardaman to run on his hillside village slate also.This young bastard is a hell of a backstabbing politition who does not care for the people who helped him get to where he is today.Look out hillside , here comes the welch slate to your town next.
