POL, how to deal with unsolicited yardsigns [M06]


Rep. Karen Yarbrough suggests that recipients of unwanted yardsigns label the yardsigns unwanted rather than just removing them.

The background of this picture shows how the whole block received yardsigns.

Keep in mind how the Moore/Welch team reacted when challenged on unauthorized yardsigns in Forest Park. Although at his trial last week Democratic Committeeman Eugene "Gene" Moore said he never placed a yardsign without the homeowner's permission.

    Is Ireland still supporting Welch? I don't see Welch's sign up at Irelands place of business. What happened with that courtship? Does anyone know what is going on? Inquring minds want to know. Another thing is I don't see as many of Welch's signs up as before. Are people pulling them up because they have realized what a jerk he is? Please post if you have the inside track on why Ireland took down the Welch signs.

  • Many of our citizens in Maywood have complained about Welch and Moore signs poping up WITHOUT owners permission. I told them if they are afraid to move them call the Maywood police so that they can have public works remove them. I they want to they can remove them themselves. It is a shame that their is no respect for personal property

People just have to remember that you are not breaking any law if you do this. That is your property and the signs were put down without the permission of you as the homeowner,landlord and now they have resorteed to telling local businesses that they are sent by the towns Mayor to put up signs in business windows and on private fences. One local Bellwood resident was even given $200.00 by a Proviso janitor to secure a cormer house on madison st. Oh well Chris, good job because you sure as hell raped enough of your accounts to pay $200.00 for each corner hose for your signs. And another thing Chris. Please answer one thing. You have often bragged on your wonderful name the great Emanual from the bible.Why isnt it on your signs????? Could it be that you are trying to pass yourself off as a white Welch??     I have noticed that Yarbrough signs have been pulled up in Hillside and locations in Maywood. Is Welch behind this activity? Does he have his dope fiend volunteers pulling up signs? If I catch someone I am going to call the police! Welch knows better than to do this. If someone was to do that to him, the jerk would try to sue them. Welch practice what you preach yu idoit. Some dope fiend put a sign in my neighbors yard without their permission, and she graciously pulled it up and now it is in a land fill somewhere. Welch is so arrogant that he believes he is going to win with ridiculous yard signs. PLEASE.

    Welch is just a rookie that will see how real politicans work. There are going to be some people that will mysteriously stop supporting Welch. Alot of double crossing. Get your lips ready Welch, because you are going to be kissing alot of ass.

    Yes, it was their building and NO they did NOT give Welch nor Moore permission to place the signs on the lawn. If they appear there again, they intend to file criminal charges against the campaigns of both as well as the two personally. Evidently, Welch and Moore received the message loud and clear as the signs disappeared from the lawn within hours. Furthermore, when they stopped by the Moore headquarters to ask why they placed signs there, the signs were in Moore's office on the table. That sounds like two instances of trespassing according to my limited knowledge of the law. Next time Moore and Welch people should look before they leap because they may land in something they may not want to deal with.

  • Hey did any one listen to the radio show today from the three stooges?, Well, Brian("Saigon Jane" or "Tokyo Rose")Cross was on spewing propaganda over the airwaves! He viciously attacked State Rep. Yarbrough and tried to make her policies insignificant!
    Wow, Saigon Jane was spewing hate and nonsense and he probably believed it! Saigon Jane, and his cohort Don ("Bahgdad Bob") Sloan, (remember the Iraqi foreign minister who kept saying that US troops were not in Bahgdad, and then was caught on camera 10 minutes afterwards by US troops), have continued spewing out hatred towards others on a continous basis. There attacks on State Rep. Yarbrough is disgusting , and all people of faith and dignity should make sure these two "Hitler youth "be banished from our airwaves and our community!
    For these two traitors of our community, for these two Terrorists of our community,to see what is in front of there noses requires a constant struggle!
    Don't they see what everyone see's that we live in America, home of the free and we don't want to live like those two hillbillie's , who depend on goverment jobs to live above the poverty line!

  • I worked long and hard to get permission to put up Yarbrough signs and then I put them up in over 100 locations mostly on Saturday. SOMEONE, and I really have a good idea which Moore stooge it was, but I cannot prove it, came along and tore down the ones I had permission to put up on 1st Avenue. This person and any others with that kind of dictatorship mentality, should try living in a country that is a true dictatorship. I replaced all of the signs on Sunday evening. Let's see how long they last!!!

  • I have removed one post made under "anonymous" on this thread.

    Some people post under "anonymous" but then use a pseudonym within the text.

    Since my concern is about confusion, this meets my requirements. I'd prefer these people figure out how to click the "Other" option and put the pseudonym as the "identity" but I'm OK with not fixing all the world's problems.

    Welch is a very troubled man. He was so seroious about pressing charges and putting people in jail that messed with his signs. Hopefully the bandits will get caught. I am sure they go around during the late hours of the night and committ these crimes. I have my camera and video camera in my car and hope that I catch these ruthless and dirty individuals. Welch and Moore can't fight fair so they resort to taking signs.

    An insecure individual does this type of crime. I hope they get caught and go to jail.

  • Paul Esparza called me on Saturday night.

    Esparza said that he had his people out going door-to-door where there were Moore and Welch yardsigns.

    Esparza said he'd instructed his crew to ask the resident if s/he had agreed to having the yardsign placed. If the resident said, "no," Esparza's people were supposed to spray paint the sign with a "NO" or a circle with a line through it.

    This contrasts with Yarbrough's instructions. Yarbrough was exceedingly explicit that her volunteers are not to touch Moore or Welch yardsigns.

    The Yarbrough campaign would provide homeowners markers to put a circle with a slash through it on Moore or Welch signs, but the campaign volunteers were not supposed to do this themselves.

  • I talked to Paul Esparza today.

    He disagreed with my recounting of our Saturday night conversation. Since I had 4-6 drinks (and Esparza had a couple too) it's definitely possible there was some miscommunication.

    Esparza says his people are following the same policy that Yarbrough instructed to her people. Ask if the sign was placed with permission. If not, recommend the people put a circle with a line through it on the sign.

  • Truth and Liberty? Well, it looks as if “Frank the Fake” or maybe Frank Yeniz is at it again…

    His most recent fallacious posting using the pusillanimous / nameless title of “Truth and Liberty” definitely are not truthful and may be more libel than liberating.

    I too listened to the radio program in question, “The Dinner Table” this past Sunday at 4:30pm on WJJG 1530 am radio. I tune in on most Sundays as a matter of interest. I am friends with those guys; Chris, Don and Brian always have good topics that make people think.

    Sure, Brian Cross was popping off on Karen last Sunday but what Moore would you expect from him? “Fake”, if you do not agree with what Brian had to say, fine, that’s ok too. If it meant that much to you, as you allege, then you should have called into the radio show, use your real name and debated him on the air about his statements, it might have made for a lively exchange.

    But “Fake”, why would you “knowingly lie” and state that Mr. Sloan was popping off on Karen also, when you knew that Don was not even at the station on that day? Why would you lie when you know that Don has not even been around that much over the past few months?

    Why would you lie when you knew that last Sunday Sloan was visiting and caring for his 86 year old mother at a rehabilitation home in Westmont, where she has been in residence for the past few weeks after an illness and extended hospital stay.

    “Frank the Fake”, you knew all this, so why the lie and why the cheep shot?
