POL, yardsign thuggery in Forest Park [M06]

Forest Park Review (Seth Stern) covers an incident that occurred on January 15, 2006.

Vincent Jones, a relative of Cook County Board President John Stroger, was leading a crew in placing yardsigns for Eugene Moore and Emanuel Christopher Welch.

A resident objected. Police arrived. Jones threatened the police. Officers told the workers to remove the unauthorized signs. The police asked Jones for ID. Jones cursed at the cops. The confrontation became physical. Jones was arrested for battery and resisting arrest.

Moore paid Jones' bond. The court date is March 16, 2005.

Will Collin Simpson, the State's Attorney lead prosecutor in the Fourth District, go easy on Jones?

  • I bet Moore and Welch are so mad, because they had to leave the motel they were playing in to go bail Jones out! Moore and Welch and there gang of thugs are getting really desperate now!They have no message,no money and no manpower other than the 209 janitors!Moore is close to being kicked off the ballot due to fake signatures,he is the laughing stock of Cook County elected officials and his ex-crime partner Paulie Asparza is suing him!
    Welch is becoming more and more delusional and truely believes he is white!Welch and Moore have been exposed as liars,double crossers, and thieves by there ex-friends who oppose them and sue them,by the children of 209 and 89 and 88, and by the media! Welch and Moore were exposed putting up signs in empy houses,in front of there friends crack houses and even Tony Calderone and Frank Pasqualli had to tear down there signs because they are out of control!
    Any elected official who could support these two "Baton Lounge" Clowns are nuts, because these morons are liabilties to any of them and only cause others problems!
    Proviso was relatively quit, until Moore and Welch decided to cause all these problems, by running against Yarbrourgh and making mayors and others pick sides!
    I nthe old days,Joey Boots would take out a liability because it was bad for bussiness to have such liabilites like Welch and Moore around,today the voters will have to do the deed and get rid of these clowns and morons,before they destroy everything in Proviso!
    It's only Bussiness, it's not personal!

  • Well...Judging on past actions by Welch and Moore. The person who denied the signs better not work for anyone that cow-tows to these two Saddam like figures or he and his next of kins can expect to be fired. They may put him on house arrest and give him one supervised hour to clear his office.

  • This whole story going on right now with the putting up of yard signs illigally,and bailing out his ignorant cronie just further proves that Moore is nothing but a crooked politican. I personally do hope Karen Yarbarough does take the committeeman spot from him this time around! Didn't Carl say that Moore said he never puts up yard signs without permission? Now we see what truth was in that comment! Heres a good point If Gene has so much pull and support in this community, then why would this incident have even happened? Lookes like Moore is losing his grip! I just think its about time Proviso Township wakes up and kicks this scum to the street where he belongs. And no longer lets this shady man have influence over the political direction of this township!

    Anon 1, do you distinguish between the two types of allegations? Or do you lump everything into "if the cop wasn't caught on video tape then he's innocent"?

  • How does Nyberg know this current charge of brutality is untrue? Was he there?

    Why does Nyberg believe only the other claims of brutality? The Wrigleyville rapists' victim was quoted in the Sun Times that she beat up her assailant to defend herself. Funny, Nyberg never reported that in his blog.

    Yet Nyberg takes the side of a convicted serial rapist that the police did it. Nyberg believes a rapist over his victim and over the police.

    How does Nyberg come up with his "conclusions" on brutality? Not on facts. It's clear that these "conclusions" are made only based on political allegiances.

    Despicable.

    you talk a big game,but how would you cower if i called the feds. and told them the true stories about you and others.You would'nt be so tough,hey?
    I heard Dr. Yanez is currently working at the MCC, he might be the Physician doing the incoming physical exams on you and your friends, and he might be able to get you into the the MCC infirmary so you don't have to sit in a jail cell with real convicts!
    Would you talk so tough then? Would ya? Also you know how the Federales are, they all work together, the federals from the field and the prisons,etc.

  • The rules are simple, get permission from the owners, an adult, and do NOT place in the parkway, in front of abandoned buildings or other places that are illegal. For example there is a huge Moore or Welch sign at 1st and Huron that is legal but totally blocks the view of any driver trying to pull out onto busy and speedy 1st Ave. I know and abide by the rules and will turn in Saturday the rest of 140 requests for signs achieved, 100 by email replies, 25 by phone calls and 15 by seeing people and asking them. And, you know what, almost 90% are for real voters for Karen's two races and not just doing it for me. I say that with two asides. Signs do not, obviously vote, and when I lost in 2001, and outr entire village ticket went down in a landslide, backed by Moore, we had almost two to one majority of signs up. My second caveat is, we should emulate Melrose Park which still has NO signs up polluting the scenery!!

  • Yeah, watcher. It was ONE cop who sided with the rapist - and he only said he thought that's what happened. And that cop is getting fired for being a serial liar.

    What about the victim who told the police that she inflicted the injuries on the rapist when she defended hersef? So you goofs side with a rapist and a lying cop over a rapist. Did this rapist get off the hook like you said? No, you morons, he was convicted. Just like that crooked cop who lied about this and other false claims will be.

    Nobody in their right minds believes Vincent Jones or any of these "upstanding citizens" when they make false claims about police brutality. I'm glad this lowlife Jones made the claim against someone in Carl's political camp. Maybe the smug set can see how easy it is to falsely accuse someone.

  • Watcher, you're really bright - tired of lies is right about you.
    The story is so simple, so it will have to be spelled out for you.

    The detective sees the rapist is beat up. The rapist tells the detective, "yeah, the cops did it." Of course, the rapist wouldn't exactly say that his victim did it, now would he?

    And of course the police duly fill out reports and investigate the claim, instead of blowing it off. And that investigation is being used by Nyberg and the cop who's trying to save his job to claim some brutality problem. Give us a break!

    Except there's one problem with all of these conspiracy theories - the VICTIM testified that she inflicted the injuries on the scumbag rapist. Let's see, the word of the victim, or of the rapist...hmmm...

    So, which story do you believe? The rapist's story or his victim's? Don't let politics cloud your common sense, or any sense of decency that normal citizens have.

    And Nyberg, still waiting for you post the Sun Times article about the Wrigleyville rapist getting sentenced and the victim telling the world that she - and not the cops - beat up the scumbag rapist.
