Two sources have said Starsiak is implementing Mack's agenda for the remaining portion of the academic year.

Who else thought it was a little weird that the majority had a superintendent identified--a guy who had accepted the position--before Mack was notified he was being fired?
How can this not be an Open Meetings Act violation?

I suppose Dick Devine could be bought off....

The gentleman was not missing, could it be that maybe, just maybe, he had a life before joining Dist. 88, and had previous engagements?
I did not think that it was weird that the majority already had a superintendent. Let's go back a few months, when Mack was already known to be taking Dr. Montoyas' place in the district. Was that also a violation of an Open Meeting Act? Probably, so why is it that now some of the players are crying?
Let's remember that Starsiak is not here to stay, he is just the Intrem-Superintendent. Let's give him a break, and let's let bygons be bygones. We can't judge him by what happened in Dist. 89, since I don't think that any of us was under his management when he was there.

It does not matter if Mr. Starciack had a life before SD88. What does matter is that he knew about the fact that Ms.Thurman had secured the (4) votes needed to hire him before it even went to the Board meeting when the same (4) votes were secured to fire Mr. Mac. He did not even have enough sence to clear his calender of events in order to be at the helm for at leat the first two weeks in the interim seat. Give me a break.I am glad this site is available for me as a parent. I will continue to participate in the school meetings because this is not in the best interest of our children. The first thing all of us parents need to know is what really happen in D-89. Does this man have a sickness that will bring down D88?
(BURP),(BURP)!!!!!!!!!!(SLUR),(SLUR)!!!!!!!!!!Come on you all, our children are at risk here. We dont need another Montoya-Rubber stamp. We need leadership in D88. Carl please do some investigative reporting for the parents.who is this Starciack man? How did Thurman come so prepared with his name, salery, and starting date. Please help us!!!!

Reality check to some: Dr. Starsiak will only be there until June 30th. Can the district actually go lower than what it is now? I'm not saying the man is the best thing, nor am I saying that he will change things around. All I'm saying is that he is only there to fill the empty place of some other person, who did bring Dist. 88 down, who did not put children first, and who is sitting home, enjoying his days, while the students, and the parents, have no clue as to what decisions are bing made for their children.
I would like to encourage parents to attend the board meetings, to meet with their children's teachers, and to become not only informed, but actively involved in the decision making for their kids.
Will things be perfect? No, but together we can all be taken into consideration when the future of our kids is the main farctor for which we elected these 7 individuals. Let's make them--all 7 of them--accountable for the decisions they are making for our children. Let's unity and be a storng force!
Am I asking for too much? I don't believe so. WE are talking about what my child will be in a future, and all of that starts with obtaining a good education from the beginning.
Do we need someone strong to run the district? Yes, but we need someone who will follow the rules, not bend them here or there for political gain. Someone who will not make exceptions for this or that, but who will treat all--Blacks, Latinos, Whites--equally.
That is one of the many reasons why our parents are leaving Dist. 88; not equal treatment for all.
