Today at Rock of Ages Church in Maywood, there was a funeral service for Francis Allen Hampton (May 12, 1922 to March 7, 2008). Francis Hampton was the father of Fred Hampton.

Francis (Frank) A. Hampton was born to the late M.C. Hampton and Emma Lee Evans in Haynesville, Louisiana. There were five 95) brothers, Curtis, Ernest, Lonnie, Alvin and Roosevelt and two (2) sisters, Mattie and Essie Mae, that preceeded him in death. He accepted Christ at an early age at the Bethel Baptist Church and was educated in the Haynesville Public School System. Francis entered the United States Army in 1943 and received honorable discharge. In 1944, he was united in Holy Matrimony to Iberia White and to this union was born William (Bill), Delores (Dee Dee) and Frederick (Fred), with whom he has now joined to celebrate eternal life.
After relocating to Chicago, he joined Mount Calvary Baptist Church and was a faithful member there until he decided to worship locally and joined Rock of Ages Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Marvin Wiley.
He was employed at CPC International for forty-seven (47) years and was a dedicated union member and foreman. Frank was always looking out for the welfare of others and assisted them in gaining meaningful employment. He retired from Corn Products in 1984.
Francis was also an honorable member of the Monarch Lodge #99 (PHA) for sixty (60) years. Upon the death of his on, Fred, he continued Fred's life long dream of promoting scholarships through the Fred Hampton Scholarship Fund for aspiring attorneys. He loved fishing, hunting and gardening; in actuality he was a true farmer. Above all the love in his heart was the love he had for his family.
He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving and truly devoted wife, Iberia; son, William (Bill) Hampton; daughter, Delores (Dee Dee); brother, Mack Hampton; sisters Effie Greene, and Clara Robinson of Magnolia, Arkansas and Sallie Fuller of Las Vegas, Nevada; his grandchildren, Fred Jr., Danard and Octavia; great-grandchildren, Tanetra, Danard Jr. and Khadijah; great-great grandchildren, Dami-Jaeh, Dontrell and Makayla will also cherish his memory threee god sons, Alderman Willie Cochran, Marvin Carter and Chester Herring; and a hos of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom will all miss his earthly presence.
