Francis Allen Hampton obit

Today at Rock of Ages Church in Maywood, there was a funeral service for Francis Allen Hampton (May 12, 1922 to March 7, 2008). Francis Hampton was the father of Fred Hampton.

This is the obituary provided at the funeral.
Francis (Frank) A. Hampton was born to the late M.C. Hampton and Emma Lee Evans in Haynesville, Louisiana. There were five 95) brothers, Curtis, Ernest, Lonnie, Alvin and Roosevelt and two (2) sisters, Mattie and Essie Mae, that preceeded him in death. He accepted Christ at an early age at the Bethel Baptist Church and was educated in the Haynesville Public School System. Francis entered the United States Army in 1943 and received honorable discharge. In 1944, he was united in Holy Matrimony to Iberia White and to this union was born William (Bill), Delores (Dee Dee) and Frederick (Fred), with whom he has now joined to celebrate eternal life.

After relocating to Chicago, he joined Mount Calvary Baptist Church and was a faithful member there until he decided to worship locally and joined Rock of Ages Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Marvin Wiley.

He was employed at CPC International for forty-seven (47) years and was a dedicated union member and foreman. Frank was always looking out for the welfare of others and assisted them in gaining meaningful employment. He retired from Corn Products in 1984.

Francis was also an honorable member of the Monarch Lodge #99 (PHA) for sixty (60) years. Upon the death of his on, Fred, he continued Fred's life long dream of promoting scholarships through the Fred Hampton Scholarship Fund for aspiring attorneys. He loved fishing, hunting and gardening; in actuality he was a true farmer. Above all the love in his heart was the love he had for his family.

  • Carl,
Nobody wants to read about OBT's. Thats why there are NEWSPAPERS> Is this the "Best" Blogger news in Proviso? Let me ask you this, what happen to the Eugene Moore corruption, Ed Smith, Frank Pasquale, Don Sloan, Arnie Bryant, Karen Yarbrough, Brian Cross, Sue Henry, Oh! Oh! What about Dan Coglianese, Ron Serpico, Anthony Bruno...Odelson & Sterk...Maywood & Melrose Park police scandals about Scavo, the juicy stories of corruption, crime and indictments? What happen to Ben Mazzulla, Jesse Martinez and the prostitution & gambling in Stone park? Maywood's Mayor Henderson Yarbrough and the murders, gangs, high taxes, uncontrolable water bills,or Claude Porter & PLCCA you used to write on your site? Or Tony Perica's, the Mike Manzo's, and the bribbery and the Kathy Ryan's, Proviso Township Office.
What happen in Proviso, is it still on the map of Cook County? Or aren't you able to get the information on what really still goes on, or were you told "Sweep it under the rug"? What happen to your Blog? I see you don't publish those real stories anymore. Why Carl?
You'll probably not post this comment and sweep this under the rug.

Maywood resident held hostage to high taxes, high water bills, crime, gangs and nowhere to move to, proeprty is worthless.
