should we expect Karen Yarbrough to switch state rep candidates?
On the Chicago Tribune blog Clout Street Mickey Ciokajlo reports state representative and Proviso Democratic Committeeman Karen Yarbrough has solicited the Cook County Democratic Party for support to be Cook County Recorder of Deeds.
Yarbrough represented to me that she was running for re-election as state representative.
I haven't done the research, but I am pretty sure she can't hold both positions at the same time. If it was possible, why would Eugene Moore have resigned as state representative when he was appointed recorder?
Ciokajlo's piece was published at 8:40 Monday morning. Yarbrough's text message to confirming she was the candidate for state rep was 5:57 PM Saturday.
I sent Yarbrough an email asking the following questions at 12:16 PM yesterday.
As of almost noon today she hasn't responded.

Who are you supporting for Recorder of Deeds?
Can you guarantee there won't be a last minute switch of some other candidate for state rep in the 7th district?

No, you can't hold both state rep and recorder at the same time. Yarbrough lied to you when asked if she was running for recorder. she lies all the time Carl, you'll see.

Since Yarbrough mislead you, perhaps her new title should be "state mis-representative"

Why should she have to tell you anything Carl? Why are you owed any explaination of what she does?

To why at 6:48pm,, Yarbrough does'nt owe an explanation to Carl, but to the Proviso community and to her district!!! Yarbrough asked and recieved help in her campaign from the community and its residents who were sick and tired by the politics of lies and deceite of her opposition.Yarbrough portraited herself as a reformer,as an honest person and politician, she has stated numerous times that the new Proviso Democratic Party would be open and responsive to its members and that the majority ruled! We fought against Gene Moore's backroom deals and demanded an open process for our party and leaders, but Yarbrough did not come to the Proviso Demmocratic organization and ask our views and our opinion and worse of all ,SHE DID NOT ASK FOR OUR SUPPORT!
Instead she has secretly gone behind people's back and has tried to cut deals and has continued the same lying ways of her predecessor,Gene Moore!
Yarbrough should come to the party and ask for our support first, and lead by example, instead she listens to the wrong advisors(Shapiro,Flowers,Woll,Manzo and Coglinese)!
Shape up Yabrough, or we ,the people, will replace you and find someone else who will respond to there community, not special interests!

I just saw this "community responds" which is quite funny like "the community" was in the room when Yarbrough conferred with the Proviso Dems about Proviso politics. Clearly this person is an "outsider" from the insider who knows not what they talk about.
Carl, I use to read your blog mostly during my down time at my job, but it continues to disappoint me. Raise the bar guy.

Can you be more specific about how you'd like to see Proviso Probe improved?
