I'd like to know if Steinbach (name misspelled in the sun-times) accepted money from Forest Park businesses. She pledged not to, but... By the way Carl, you handled your defeat much better than expected. If it was sincere than good for you. I hope it was. The time for unfounded allegations based on pure speculation, rumors and other childish behavior should be over. (Never should have started) I think now that we have a village council that is focused on progress and getting the job done rather than egos, vendettas and disruptive immaturity we will as a village move forward at a pace not seen before. A council with true (not just claimed) professionalism will be a breath of fresh air for all.

I believe it's standard practice to let go the non-tenured teachers who may not be rehired for next year. It doesn't prevent them from being rehired. I think it simply means they have been given adequate notice of termination.
Someone at the school may want to verify this.

old proviso teacher sez: No, this is not standard practice. And, if these poor souls are re-hired at Proviso, they will start at tenure year one again (even if they had three years tenure before). Also, 209 waited until the very last day (maybe even beyond the very last day) to notify these folk. State law requires notification 45 days before the last day of the school year; these people were notified on April 17, and the official last day of our school year (on the official calendar) is May 30. You do the math.

What caused such an overturn in Westchester's trustee race?
