GOV, more Stroger nepotism in county government

At least one person who posts to Proviso Probe consistently defends County Board President Todd Stroger from criticism. One of Proviso Guru's defenses is, of course Commissioners Forrest Claypool (D-Chicago) and Tony Peraica (R-Riverside) criticize Stroger. They lost the elections.

Well, the cronyism bothers Commissioner Earlean Collins (D-Chicago) too.

CBS2 (Mike Flannery):
Stroger said his cousin has not only the academic and professional qualifications to be Cook County's Chief Financial Officer, but another quality he seeks in key appointments.

"They have to be close to the president. The president has to trust them. There is no one I trust better than Donna Dunnings," Stroger said.

"We have to get away from this blatant nepotism. I've just, I've never supported that," said County Commissioner Earlean Collins. "I think he's gone way overboard with it. It has nothing to do with her qualifications."
