F07, predict outcome of Forest Park mayor's race [FP]

Vote for one:
Theresa A. Steinbach 1
Patrick J. Doolin 2
Anthony T. Calderone 3

It's like American Idol. Bottom vote getter doesn't appear in the next round (April 17 election).

I want to use one of my lifelines and poll the audience. Who will get insufficient support to make it to the next round? And for the bold, predict the percentages.

Please make predictions by 8:00 AM on election day.

[UPDATE: If you see anyone working your polling place you suspect of being a government employee shanghaied into service take a picture and send me a copy RadioNyberg circled "a" Yahoo spot c0m. We'll put the Proviso Probe team on identifying who these people are.]

  • What do you get if your numbers are closest to the actual result?

  • Bragging rights?

What do you want me to give?

I'll buy you a beer on St. Pat's Day. How's that?

  • Calderone - 55%
    Doolin - 24%
    Steinbach - 21%

    See you after the Parade!

  • I am not a fan of carlsnuts, but I think he has it nailed. Those are the exact numbers I would give.

  • At Forest Park Forums rdscaf wrote that Dr. Nagele Jackson is running as a write-in candidate.

Is this going to happen tomorrow or on April 17?

By Blogger Carl Nyberg, at 5:27 PM, February 26, 2007

  • Doolin-25%
    Calderone-33%
    Steinbach-24%

Doolin then gets endorsed by Steinbach and Doolin wins in April by a few percentage points!!!
Nyberg wins a seat in forest park for trustee!!!

  • I came home to some of Negale Jackson's campaign literature. He is running as a write in for the April 17 election.

    Calderone--48%
    Doolin--35%
    Steinbach--17%

  • DOOLIN 42%
    Calderone 37%
    Steinbach 21%

Good luck to Doolin & Steinbach today. It would be nice to see a race end up with Doolin & Steinbach in April, but know Calderone will most likely squeak thru the primary ahead of at least 1 of the challengers.

  • Why is Welch, the Insider, kissing Mayor Calderone's ass so much? What's in it for him? Carl, can you answer this question?

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 11:33 AM, February 27, 2007

  • What do you think the possible answers are?

By Blogger Carl Nyberg, at 11:35 AM, February 27, 2007

  • New to Proviso. The new math and science academy is in Forest Park. Is it possible that new mayor can cause problems for math and science academy? Carl, you don't have to answer. Just trying to understand the relationship between Welch and Mayor Calderone.

  • Calderone and Welch are part of an establishment old guard that includes people like Melrose Park Mayor Ron Serpico and Cook County Recorder of Deeds Eugene Moore.

Friends help friends. Welch is going to want help in Forest Park getting someone friendly elected to the school board so Welch doesn't lose his status as board president.

  • Thanks Carl

  • My vote is for Doolin. Steinbach is too mysterious. Calderone reminds me of Welch...literature, signs, and kickbacks. Any friend of Welch is not a friend of mine.

Downtown Forest Park has improved tremendously...So some voters will overlook the under the table deals done by Mayor Calderone. Similiar to Mayor Daley. Downtown Chicago has changed drastically for the good..So a lot of voters will forget or overlook the corruption and scandals that occurred under Daleys leadership. But Daley will win because this race, he has no "real" competition.
Welch...Responsible for PMSA which he is claiming as his major accomplishment...yet taxpayers have suffered from his wasteful spending, patronage hiring, and giving contracts to his friends.

It is all smoke and mirrors.

  • I missed my deadline for predicting, so this doesn't count.

But I'm gonna predict something contrary to conventional wisdom.

    Steinbach--39.5%
    Doolin--31.5%
    Calderone--29%

  • Does anyone know who has opisition against petitions or binders in our area?

  • Nice prediction you unelectable unemployed living in mommy's house loser. I guess you and the FP review really have your fingers on the pulse of FP. I wouldn't vote for you nor would I vote for anyone you support. Get a job, support yourself (at 39 years old it's about time) and then maybe after that and your large purchase at the CLUE store you'll show up on my radar. I know you don't like to post my criticisms. Can't take it?

  • Um, really good forecast there, Carl. I believe this really shows what a poor grasp you have on public opinion in Forest Park. But, hey, since my prediction was the closest to the actual outcome, Carl, you owe me a beer after the parade Saturday. I'll be the one wearing green. Erin go braugh!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 10:16 AM, March 01, 2007

  • Nobody predicted Doolin would be the low vote getter, so I don't think anyone has claimed bragging rights out of these predictions.

By Blogger Carl Nyberg, at 11:06 AM, March 01, 2007

  • Besides, Carl can't buy you a beer until mommy doles out some money.
