GOV, Westchester Image Council [W]

Chicago Tribune (Nancy Munson) wrote a short article on Westchester Image Council.

Mission statement:
The Westchester Community Image Council is comprised of volunteer residents, business owners and local institutions committed to improving Westchester through enhancing its visual appeal and preserving its heritage.

Along with identifying viable projects, the Westchester Community Image Council will co-ordinate funding, planning, implementation and after-project support.

The Council's efforts are dedicated to establishing a high standard of quality for the visual impact of Westchester, thereby instilling community pride among business and residents thus enhancing its appeal.

Is the Westchester Image Council making Westchester a better community?

Should other Proviso communities try to imitate the Westchester Image Council?

  • I think the overall idea of an "Image Council" is great. I think this particular Image council is a sham. Look at the members and look at the members of the Progressive Party.....Using a non-profit for political motives.

    Also...Mr's casey and Boyle....for all the bad mouthing you both have done about Mr Rick Fox....I am AMAZED to see that he is a member of the Progressive Party and a "running mate" of yours now. Is it money motivated or the ever-so-popular "smile in their face and stab them in the back"?

    Great way to make it look good but there are plenty of people who know better.

  • I completely agree with the anonymous...it all seems like everthing is for great intentions but I dont think you can believe anything that comes from the Casey, FOX, Buikema and Boyle combined efforts. They have proved to be nothing more than a smoke and mirrors act that wants to make everybody else look bad. They have stalled many a project in their town and blame everything on everyone else.
    NO one is perfect, I grant you that. But those who claim to be and always cast stomes at others are the ones you really need to watch out for.....

  • Refer to anon #1 as "idea of 'Image Council' is great" and anon #2 as "agree with anonymous".

    In the future don't post under "anonymous"; use a pseudonym. It makes the discussion confusing with multiple people posting as "anonymous".
