ED, What's been cut from Proviso Township High Schools [D209]
Forest Park Review (Josh Adams, right column):
If Stan Fields could take a break from socializing with Eugene Moore and respond to questions I pose to him--apparently he wants to be open to everyone in the community except for me--I'd ask him, what's been cut from the budget?
My suspicion is that most of the deficit cutting has been "on paper" only. Fields, Welch and Nikita Johnson used accounting games to inflate the deficit at the beginning of the year so they could cut the deficit on paper.
I've been to most of the meetings and the specific savings have been pretty minimal. Apparently District 209 had a storeroom full of paper. By using the paper it already had the district saved like $300,000 (I'm working from memory). And the district saved about $60,000 on a photocopier maintenance contract.
What are the other savings?
Did the district cut Bob Libka? That would have saved $150,000 or so, right?
Did the district cut the insurance commissions paid to Eugene Moore? That would have saved about $200,000.
Did the district cut the payments to Danielle Ashley Communications, the PR firm that will probably being doing "in kind" work for the school board president's candidates in the upcoming elections?
And on top of failing to cut the political sacred cows, Fields added a ridiculously expensive contract for a website. It's almost $200,000 (for six web sites) with a $24,000 per month service contract.
So, I'm skeptical. What expenses has Fields cut?
School administrators continue to tighten the belt at District 209, and based on a report given to board members this month, a projected $14 million deficit has been cut in half.

Funny...Let's see...
If Josh Adams and Bill Dwyer could get their faces out of Stan Fields lap for a few minutes, maybe they could find some of the overt impropriates that are being perpetrated by Fields and Welch.
Josh Adams...like a young giggling school girl with a crush seems smitten by Welch because he played baseball. I mean...who gives a good got damn! Be groupies on your own time...in the meantime have enough respect for yourself and your profession to research and print the truth. And not the truth according to the apple of your eyes, Fields and Welch.
It is common knowledge that their has been patronage hiring, quid pro quo contracts, nepotism and cronyism ordered by Welch and rubber stamped by Fields, Nikita Johnson and the board majority (Urethra "Sue" Henry, Danny Adams, and Shirley Madlock). Yet these two groupies Dwyer and Adams are so infatuated by Fields and Welch that they would rather create a story about a $30.00 phone bill than implicate Fields, Welch and Nakita Johnson in their conspiracy to commit election fraud. Yes, Welch, Fields and Johnson conspired and took deliberate actions to commit election fraud by inappropriately tampering with the candidates civil rights to file their petitions for the school board election in April. Yet, there is no mention of this illegal conspiracy and election fraud in the Forest Park Review. I guess Dwyer and Adams didn’t come up for air in time to get the facts. So be it! I guess Nicole Trottie, Dwyer and Adams have something in common. I would ask them to verbally respond to this indictment…but it would be futile, besides…it’s hard to talk with you mouth’s full!
Update: My apologies to Urethra “Sue” Henry for spelling her first name wrong…although the meaning is true to form.

The only cuts that I have heard of are for truant officers and some aides. I guess they are doing wrong because they all do their jobs.
I want to know why the principal's secretary, Sarah McAllister is getting almost $8,000 for directing school plays. Shouldn't the English department have employees who could get a small stipend for doing the same. I unfortunately happened to attend one of Ms. McAllister's plays and there were only 10 people in the audience. Oh, and don't forget the shelling out of over $3,000 for technical directors, which for all purposes is for shining the spotlight on the stage.
Proviso is a joke, there are teachers who spend most of their time on organizing social activities during school hours when they should be teaching. One aide told me that teachers send their students to the library and computer labs when they don't want to be bothered, in other words, when they are working on their stipend work.
The people who are really working for the success of the students and not their own personal gain, are the ones who will end up being cut.

Say a truant officer or an aide costs $50,000/year with benefits. If Fields saved $6 million cutting truant officers and aides he would have cut 120 truant officers and aides.
How many has he really cut? A dozen?
Bill Dwyer is a columnist who appears every four weeks in the FPR. Don't get upset with him that he's not focused on District 209 issues more than he is. He did write his last column on D209. He called for sacking Kyle Hastings. If he hasn't had a column since then it's hard to know what's on his mind.

My recommendation would be for the Forest Park Review to do a story on Welch and his constant abuse of patronage hiring. He beleives he is invincible and continues to hire his friends and relatives for security and maintenance jobs.
The Chicago Sun Times did an excellent story on the Strogers and was able to provide a well-detailed chart showing either a familial or personal relationship. I believe there are at least 60 friends and relatives of Stogers working for the County.
If the Forest Park review is interested in this story, I will forward the names and occupations that I know for certain that are connected to Welch. Maybe this will get the ball rolling on an Federal or State investigation on Welch and now Dr. Murphy. Even though, Dr. Murphy just got this positiion she is still perpetuating patronage hiring and not following POLICY! She is just as crooked as Welch. Why wasn't she given the boot with Libka?
I say the hell with all these crooks! A

Carl,
I trust and respect your judgement. Due to your comments, please disregard the statements regarding Bill Dwyer. I will refrain from any further indictments of Bill Dwyer until confirmed and necessary.
Now, my indictment of Josh Adams stands as written until further notice. And please include Chuck Fieldman from the Pioneer press in this indictment. If all Chuck can report is coffee with the community…then his thoughts are trivial and don’t account for much.

s. Coffee says: Dec. 18th. That was the board meeting when they hired their new web geniuses. Lets see what they have done. Oh. NOTHING. The websites still show teachers who retired in 2004. There are no emails listed or phone numbers to contact teachers. There's not even a name to call for human resources. Why did they pay for 6 websites when there are only 3 schools and a district site? You know how Fields is going to cut the budget, don't you? He's going to fire teachers. Why not? Education is not important at Dist. 209. Basketball, patronage jobs, laundresses who make $50,000, those are all the important things!
