A07, anti-Serpico slate in Melrose Park [MP]
An informed source says that the following individuals will be running as a slate for the six trustee positions in the Village of Melrose Park.
* Pat Aligrini
* Donna Contraveous
* Vince Herrera
* Herelia Martinez
* Ernestine Perez
* Roberto Rios
(Apologies for any names misspelled.)
This slate will be running in opposition to the slate backed by Village President Ron Serpico.
The village board races in Melrose Park will have significance because they overlap with contested school board races for District 89 (Maywood and Melrose Park elementary schools) and District 209 (Proviso Township High Schools).

This slate is a true representation of the community population. They represent accountability in Melrose Park. Someone that will question WHY! They represent true checks and balances in government. God knows Melrose Park needs someone questioning the administrations actions, especially now with the alleged scandals. I wish them luck for the sake of the this village.

I know one thing Melrose Park needed a change for years when Taddeo was in the seat, they finally got the change but things still were not any different.... same things going on just different faces. Hopefully, the Freedom party will make a difference to Melrose Park. All you Melrose Parkers need to realize that the Serpico slate is bringing this town down....Do yourself a favor vote for the New Freedom Party! Melrose needs a change desperatly!!!!

Freedom Party my ASS! That slate of worthless human waste are just puppets for Marzulla and Martinez from Stone Ghetto!
If Martinez was so interested in reform, why not implement those reforms in Stone Park?Why is Marzulla mayor in town of 99% hispanics???
The Freedom party is only about 5 inidividuals,which are known as the 3 M's and a B and a C or 3MBC,which stands for Mazulla,Martinez and Manzo,along with Burdi and Castaldo.These 5 clowns,losers who don't have a education and who love there coke, want to take over Melrose so that they can get rich from stealing our resources.Say no to these bums, and better yet investigate these 5 bums and see what insiders know about them. These 5 are want to be gangsters and have raped,pillaged and destroyed Stone Park and now they want to hide between others to take over our village and make it there personal piggybank.Say no to Mazzulla,Martinez,Manzo,Burdi and Castaldo or just drive to Stone Park and see what mess they made that town into!

Some people need to think before they speak. As for your comments we the Freedom Party should not even have to respond to your ignorance but we just want to set the story straight before it gets out of control. We can not be sold, bought or controlled by anyone. As for the problems you have with Stone Park that is between them and you. The last time I looked Stone Park and Melrose Park are different towns. You should be proud of Stone Park I read in the newspaper they won Home Town Award. The Freedom Party is about choices and not control. We are working hard for all of the citizens of Melrose Park. We will be accountable for our actions and secure a good goverment. The person who questioned on not knowing our names, who we are and where we live. To answer your questions we all reside in Melrose Park. Names are not important it is the values behind the trustees that counts. We will work hard to bring back the respect we deserve in Melrose Park. We will question anything that passed before us. We represent the people and they deserve to have trustees who put them first. This person that is talking about Mazulla/Martinez etc is talking out of his/her ass. The 6 people that make up the Freedom Party are all hard working family orientated people that want positive change in their town. The current trustees for Serpico are just his puppets and stand for nothing but his own personal agenda. Wake up people! The reason why Melrose Park remains in the hands of crooks is because of ignorant people like this fool that continues to vote for these people, turn their heads and go about their lives because they are receiving some minor benefit from the village in some shape or form or just stupid old school loyality. ANYONE RESEARCH THE CONNECTION BETWEEN GREG ZITO AND THIS COMPANY CALLED RED SPEED? WHAT DID SERPICO RECEIVE IN EXCHANGE FOR THIS CONTRACT THAT THE OFFICIALS ARE "UNABLE TO STATE THE COST OF THE WORK" - ANOTHER NO-BID CONTRACT AND WHY?

Traffic cameras OKd for Lake, North
MELROSE PARK -- Police soon will get help from cameras in monitoring five heavily traveled Melrose Park intersections.
The Village Board on Monday approved an automated traffic enforcement system to increase safety at accident-prone corners on Lake Street and North Avenue.
Motorists who ignore stoplights can be ticketed at intersections equipped with electronic surveillance devices. The registered owner of a car photographed going through a red light will be responsible for the violation.
Digital cameras will be installed this year on east-west lanes of North Avenue at 1st, 5th and 9th Avenues, as well as two Lake Street intersections, officials said. Signs cautioning motorists about electronic surveillance on these corners will be posted on streets.
The village has contracted with a company called Red Speed to install cameras at five locations. But officials were unable to state the cost of the work.
