POL, Commissioner Steinbach files lawsuit against village employees for wiretapping [FP]
Forest Park Commissioner Theresa Steinbach press release:
Steinbach had her emails forwarded to Mayor Calderone by someone surreptitiously accessing her email account. It seems like it would have to be someone who works for the Village of Forest Park.
The identities of the defendents is interesting, but it seems clear that Calderone received the emails. What did Calderone know? And when did he know it?
FOREST PARK, IL – August 4, 2006 – Commissioner Theresa Steinbach, through her attorney Charles Lee Mudd Jr., filed a lawsuit today for violation of federal and Illinois wiretap statutes, violation of right to privacy, and other related claims in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Alleged is unauthorized email access by unnamed defendants and unauthorized forwarding of select electronic mail communications to the Mayor of the Village of Forest Park. A motion for leave to immediately conduct limited discovery has been filed to determine the identity of John Does 1 – 3. Affected constituents have been notified of this invasion of privacy. Commissioner Steinbach conveyed her outrage at this loss of trust between an elected official and the people she represents.

If this is true the allegations of spying on poltical opponents, then Calderon has to go along with his employyees,police chief and trustees!!!!
Calderon has to be a major prick,and a completes asshole if he has been caught doing this! I guess, he sealed his defeat 7 months early!!!
Calderon should have gone to classes at east,instead of dropping out,but I guess he can use that as an arugument in front of the judge"I don't know how to read,I'm a proviso East drop out and I'm a functional illiterate"!

If the emails are from her forest park village email account, they may belong to the village. But unless the village has made people aware of that (either through a page they have to okay when logging into the system or a letter they signed understanding that) I don't know if you still can do it legally. On logging in at our company you have to go past a page with the email/internet policy and accept it in order to gain access to the company network.
Guess we'll all find out.

I heard that Calderone called Serpico and Welch for leagal advice, and to also yell at them for allowing him and telling him that it was not illegal to spy on every elected officials e-mail in Forest Park!
Even if it is legal, what cause would Calderone have to look at any other elected officials e-mail,unless he was trying to find out what they thought and was spying on them!
Just like Nixon and Bush, he will state that he was protecting the village from Islamofacists, and just Like the communists , his behavior is equivalent to the KGB!!!
I can't trust this guy. I bet he would feel more comfortable in a Jail cell with his other friends who along with him dropped out of East!!!!
Calderone is not only a drunken dwarf, but a criminal!

If the e-mails were from her official e-mail address for the Village of Forest Park, she has nothing to complain about. That e-mail address and the content of the e-mails pertaining thereto are the property of the People of Forest Park. She was stupid for using that e-mail address for political purposes. In fact, such a usage may have been illegal.
However, if her personal e-mail account was illegally pilfered and accessed, she has a great case.
Very interesting.

Calderone should have been a lessor of a nice guy to the thrones of several forest park employees and elected persons.
What has happened is some of these folks have tried to use thier influence over the mayor and as the mayor has been saying no what we are seeing now is retaliation against the mayor and his character.
This is sickening. It smells and stinks of a double set of standards.
It plays like this, I want I want I want and when I don't get we are going to defame you.

The common thing I notice when MATC supporters post is it reads like a 5 year old having a tantrum. little or no rationality.
Terry S has more integrity in her pinky finger than than exists between MATC, Hosty and Gillian combined.
The only question now is who will run against MATC?
I'm fed up with the pettiness, whoever runs will have my vote, it's time for those three to go.

I can't believe people are attacking the Forest Park Mayor. If he committed these heinous acts, then yes, vote him out. But I think, nobody is giving him a chance to explain himself.
I hope our Mayor can anwser these questions, because by the way he has anwsers will tell me if he believes in good goverment or not.
1.If you can comment on the township goverment,schizophrenic governing body, do you Mr. Calderone beieve tha the township should have 2 separate attorneys,one to represent the board president and the other two represent the trusttees?Don't you believe that this is a waste of taxpayer money and that the trustees at the Township and the board president are way out of line?
2.Do you think it's approapiate for the township to pay, for a Township liasion to the mayors(Mr. Robbins),a vetran's affair person(Mr. Grace) and a Lobbyist (Mr. Walsh), who by the way all three are never avaiable or are needed, since we don't do any vetran township activites or nor has a lobbysit recieved any more money for us!
3.Do you think that's appropiate to have the Township assesor,Mr. Corrigan there, since he never goes to his office nor attends any meetings?Is this not a waste of tax payers monet, and should'nt the board sanction him and report him to the state's attorney's office?

Does anyone really believe that the Mayor set up the whole e-mail forwarding scandal? If he really was trying to be sneaky and do something like that, wouldn't he have created a hotmail or yahoo account anonymously and had them forwarded to those? There's no way he set that up and had them sent to his real e-mail account. Steinbach's desperate. She wants to run for mayor and knows she doesn't have a chance. That's why she had the town fool Steve Bachman draft up that crazy campaign contribution pledge, what a joke. She's just trying to keep Calderone from building a warchest that she has absolutely no chance to compete with. Maybe CUinFP can have a car wash or something to raise a few bucks for her. That's about as far as her support goes. She knows that pledge was laughed at and now she's desperately trying this and hurting the Village she is supposed to be representing. Sad. Very sad.

To Haywood. I did see that she is taking courses but then I didn't see this supposed piece of political literature saying she already had the PhD. Does watching have this literature stating she has the PhD? Maybe it said she was working towards a PhD. I don't know; I never saw it.

I remember that piece but don't have a copy of it saved. She was really throwing around the education factor in the last election. I remember being impressed by the PHD. Lying to the voters is no way to win an election.

doubletake, I'm not the one who brought it up. I don't see what it has to do with someone accessing her email account at all. I was just asking (seeing as I never saw this piece of political literature) if she said she had or was attaining. I don't know her, but from what I read about her I like her.

Calderone,"Tony Snoops" and Gillian "angry drunken dwarf" and there gang of minions,welch,serpico,moore,bruno,pasquaele,sloan,herrell and giancana are all in a whole lot of trouble! According to my sources come April 2007, the untied citizens for good goverment,MALDEF,NAACP and certain chicago political organizations, along with Cicero organizations are planning to participate and help ride Proviso off these clowns. In Forest Park and Melrose Park and district 88,89, and 209!
