MEDIA, an now for something completely trashy

I caught a few minutes of trash TV (tabloid talk show) and the host was doing the paternity test show schtick.

Why would a guy go on a show not knowing the results of the paternity test in advance? Why would he go on the show if the results weren't what he wanted?

As long as the possible father had access to the child for enough time to take the blood he'd be able to get his own paternity test in advance.

Why go into a situation unprepared?

I guess the nature of the problem sorta answers the question....
