ENVIR, Chicago area creeks [NL]
I noticed this Chicago Tribune (Liam Ford) article because of the reference to the restored wetlands along Addison Creek in Northlake.
The article draws attention to the large number of creeks in the Chicago area. These creeks were almost entirely ignored by the government, museums, universities and activists in the past. They are beginning to get some attention. The researchers find that local children and teenagers are the best sources of information about which species exist locally.
