N06, Flowers to run for Regional Sup't of Education
On Saturday, the Democratic Committeemen voted 17-0 to put Dr. Charles Flowers on the ballot to run for Regional Superintendent of Education (suburban Cook County). Republican Robert Ingraffia is the incumbent.
No candidate ran in the primary. When a ballot line is vacant in the primary, the committeemen can place a candidate on the ballot.

I deleted posts for not following the rules.
Suburban Cook has traditionally been GOP turf, but it has become more Democratic.
As a county Cook County is the most Dem in the country, IIRC (if I recall correctly).
Obviously, Chicago is the Dem base, but November should be a good year for Dems. With a good campaign, Flowers can beat Ingraffia by a healthy margin.

Are you not a journalist or are you the equivalent of Fox News, but the Communist side?
Many of those comments are true about Flowers, and the public should be aware who this man is, or else they won't be able to make an informed choice. I believe Flowers work history is and should be public information, and the reason he can't land a job outside of Proviso.
It appears that Flowers is trying to do the same things he and others attacked Welch and Moore for and that is make money from his political position.
Both of these sides are corrupt and no good, Carl you should be aware that you might be the creator of the next Idi Amin of Proviso, because Flowers sure looks like Idi Amin!

This is a joke. Flowers can't even hold a job in education, and now he wants to be the regional superintendent. According to most of the Committeeman, they didn't even put up a fight when Yarbrough brought it up because Flowers doesn't have a chance in hell, and no one else wanted it. Also, when Ingraffia brings out Flowers personal and professional history, Flowers will be done. History.

How could Flowers be a legitimate candidate when he refuses to respond to questions,such as,
1.Why is he not working at a school district?
2.Why was he fired from 209?
3.Where did he get his degree at and in what and where did he get his PhD and in what and what was his paper on?
4.Can he post a copy of his paper on the blog?
5.Can he state why teachers at 209 and 89 did not respect him?
6.Why when he was district 89 board president did he let go of every administrator and then went out and hired everyone from the district he worked at and gave them hefty contracts?
7.Why does he continue fleecing the taxpayers with his use of the cell phone paid by the district?
8.How does he anwser the allegations of corruption that plagued him at distirct 89 and what has occured at 209?
9.Why did he try unsuccessfully prior to the past 209 election,to cut a deal with his so called enemy, President Welch and ststed he would drop off from the race if President Welch would name him District 88 Superindent?
10.Why has Mr. Flowers turned on all his allies,such as Moore,Welch,Serpico,Pascuale,Sykes,Lightford,etc. Is it because they all refused to be "shaken down" by the biggest pimp in Proviso school politics?
Questions to ponder and ask Flowers.
I believe Flowers should walk away from all this and exit the stage and allow true independents with no baggage to run for the schools.

While I would easily vote for Charles FLowers, the position is the second most useless, totally unneeded governmental office in Illinois!!! First place goes easily to the Township School Treasurer (ala Danny Boy Coglianese in Proviso). As a retired teacher, still subbing, this position has always been one big joke among any teacher/administrator I have ever met who even knew the position existed. Let's have some discussion about why it still exists in the 21st century.

The position still exist because it is a small location where the old faction of political vipers can hide patronage employees and still use the 1970 style of pay-back-politics. A lot of you new politicians involved now really dont understand how they ran things back in the old days. you still have some of our older politicians still recieving a monthly payment from some school and village employees they slid into a patronage position.The payments dont stop until the employee reaches 25 years. so that means if they got a job at the public works facility or a school janitor, they paid thier sponsor $100.00 each pay period. Which means if they got twenty patronage employees throughout the township, they recieve $2,000.00 every two weeks. this is a long time con game but who will tell. these people are thankfull to have a job mainly because they are uneducated and most of them migrated here and cant read or for that matter even sign thier own name on thier paychecks.Thier wives came to the schools and villages to pick up the pay checks and all insurance information for the husband.Some have tried to pass this on to the new age employees but most of them will be the foot soldiers because they refuse to pay the payments so instead they committ to beeing "street whores" and destroy the opositions signs or infiltrate the opositions organization to only destroy it from the inside or steal lit or computer data. Area politic in the raw!!!!!!!!!!

This is the State of Illinois's last report when Charles Flowers was the Board President with a solid majority at District 89. If you see what was being measured you can see what a disaster he was along with his majority and there recommendations at that time was to have the state take over the district! The true insiders know that Welch was made to do certain things,because he was whispered to by his handler known in political circles as "6 votes",or "6 votes is all I can muster out of Westchester" or as the black polticians of proviso call him "penis breath"!
Truth be known this person destroyed Welch, and has now jumped ship on him, just like rats on a sinking ship.He refuses to return his calls,can't be found on Sundays and is telling Yarbrough's camp that "I did not lift a finger for him because you know I was really with you,Karen"!

Hey Carl is it true? I heard recently that James Meeks is running for Governor and that he has already appointed people to run his campaign in certain areas. I was told that the Oak Park,Leyden,Lyons and Proviso Townships cordinator for his campaign will be Chris Welch and Kim Lightford.
According to my sources, Mr. Welch has already scheduled a fundraiser for Meeks in Proviso in June and is getting petions signed for him as a candidiate.
I recently saw a picture in the paper when they were interviewing Meeks and in the background was Welch and other promininent black politicians and religous leaders of the black community. If this is true,which I believe is, how well will Meeks do.As you are aware Meeks thinks very highly of Welch and believes he has a bright future in Illinois Politics and as well as in Cook County politics.

Charles Flowers will be a great regional superintendent, with the knowledge and know how of how to operate this office. In addition, he would be an asset in assiting our district with trying to rid corruption, that is currently going on in our school districts! This office must take an hands on approach that will assit us with what is going on in our community.
When you have corruption in our local school systems and you have an Regional Administator that has the power and authority to do something but does not, then there is time for a change!
You dont have to like Charles Flowers, but you cant argue about his qualificiations for the job, and the fact that he would be bennifical in helping our schools get back on track.
Lastly, I would say those who are againt Charles who think they are more qualified, then step up to the plate, and lets make progress and move forward, not backwards!

Dr. Flowers becoming regional supt. of schools is something that is long over due. People in Cook County have let past regional supts. mess over our children. Gene Moore ignored this very important position, and I am proud that Yarbrough is taking a stand on this. Yarbrough knows that education is a top priority to her district. I applaud Yarbrough and Flowers for standing up and making history. Yarbrough is moving in the right direction and putting the children of Proviso Township First!
