ED, Grant fifth graders to Wilson [D88]
To make room for all-day kindergarten Grant's fifth-graders may be sent to Wilson. Grant is in Melrose Park. Wilson is in Bellwood. See West Proviso Herald (Chris LaFortune).
I still say the top issue facing District 88 is the unhealthy conditions at McKinley School in Bellwood.
All D88 schools besides Grant already have all-day kindergarten. Isn't it odd to have different levels of service within the same school district?

Here is another case of bad decission making for sd88. why are they moving children out of a good school instead of moving children out of a miold infested building? Why not do the kindergarten thing when all the children are safe from the mold.. or is this another case of "forget the Black Child"

Who cares about kids in general let alone "black" kids? District 88 children are the pawns in play and those who are moving the chess pieces should be ashamed of themselves. DO they not understand that these children will be impacted forever financially, spiritually, educationally and healthwise? we elect people to represent us but they flip the script as soon as they are elected and serve themselves, their families and their friends. I'm ashamed to be a Bellwoodian.

That's right Chris Welch...
Blame the voters, the community, the parents, the students, Carl Nyberg, black folks and whitey!
I guess we are just a township of incompetent ungrateful voters who lack respect for Chris Welch and the elites on this school board.
Sir, in your various postings, you have made numerous disparaging comments about our community and our voting public.
We will not allow you to continue to insult our community while we pay you out of our tax dollars to work against us.
Now that we know what you think about our community…things will never be the same.

Hey, "we're watching.
I still live in Bellwood and love my town. I am embarassed about our kids lack of opportunity to a decent education because of politics. I could say I hate politicians but I know they are not all bad people. I guess I am frustrated.
While these antics go on, I know the kids will be the ones to suffer. In my humble opinion, those who would do this and children are directly affected are criminals.
What can we do?
