  • A couple people have told me of a short-term spike in violence at Proviso West, including one boy having his jaw broken, connected to this rash of street violence.

Another source informed me that discipline has improved this academic year under Principal Alexis Wallace.

  • From a LOCAL 571 MEMBER:

Are you CRAZY? Wallace has not improved the discipline at Proviso. She is the worst principal to hit Proviso. She covers up the incidents that happen at Proviso with lies. Her deans are idiots and don't know what they are doing.
This is Black History month, but what has she done to celebrate it at Proviso? NOT A DAMN THING. She is a disgrace to the community. There are fights daily and even attacks on teachers. Your source is not accurate, come visit and see for yourself. As Welch has always stated Provisos doors are open to the community.

  • Mr. Davis.
I have lived in Maywood for over 25 yrs and the unruly behavior of recent years. Gunshots, violence, was never a problem in this village until recently. It is destroying a wonderful black community and if these young punks haven't figured out, taking another persons life, is automatic sale of your soul and maybe your life. This violence will not be tolerated. It is AGAINST THE LAW. DOES THAT MEAN ANYTHING TO THE PEOPLE WHO ARE DRIVING AROUND SHOOTING OTHERS. Maybe the offenders are too young to have Seen Charles Bronson movies. Keep on hurting people and the people are going to take justice into their own hands. Because obviously the Maywood police department can't watch people in station Lockup so how can they police the community?
