SPORT, Dee Brown Big Ten honors [D209]

MLive.com (Bob Becker) has the story of Dee Brown being named Preseason Player of the Year.

What makes Brown special is that he's not just another college basketball player. He is a true student-athlete, having competed all of his course work in three years. He will receive his degree in Sports Management in December, upon completion of an internship within the next three weeks.

No one should be surprised. He was No. 16 out of 382 students in his high school senior class at Proviso East High School in suburban Chicago, and he has always been active in community service.
