Proviso Township community liaison

I've received two requests to cover the recent hiring of a community liaison person for Proviso Township.

My sources felt the position is unnecessary.

Two people also noted the procedure for hiring had irregularities around how the abstention vote was counted.

  • Mr. Don Sloan, the Melrose Park backed trustee for the Township, made it the first order of bussiness to create a unneccessary postion for his loyal , but dumb friend Tom Robbins. Sloan created this postion to reward his friend and ally in the past election, and was hoping nobody would notice. Mr. Robbins and Sloan have a long and sorid history in Proviso politics, they have always supported Melrose politicians, and their style of goverment of doing nothing for the community, but of obtaining jobs and moneys for themselves.Sloan who credits himself with election victories for his canidates, such as the New Westchester Mayor, and of controlling Westchester, is now in charge of Proviso Township. Sloan and Robbins are famous for taking $3,000 dollars from Melrose Park during the last township election and not telling any of there running mates that they were paid to cover the polls on election day and pass out flyers prior to the election. It was found out after the election, that Sloan's ticket had the lowest vote count in Westchester and LaGrange Park. His double cross of Mary Herrell caused her to lose the election in Westchester! He also caused Charles Flowers to win his election for 209 , because he did no work in Westchester!!Slaon has created a $ 12,000 job, for his friend for doing nothing during the election and for probable electioneering in this current post! It is funny to note that almost every Mayor in the Township was opposed to this postion, with the exception of Serpico,Pasquale, and Calderone!

  • Sloan is famous for being the township trustee who was most loyal to August C. Taddeo, and once taddeo was convicted he tried to pass an ordinance so that Mr. Taddeo can still have Insurance from the Township!Sloan is about corruption and bad goverment! He has a radio show with the famous Chris Welch from 209 fame, and with Brian Cross, Gene Moore's aide! He,Sloan , can't do anything without approval from Melrose Park and Maywood!

  • Carl, can we see if they,Township board posted this job so others can have a chance to apply.If it was not posted why not? Is that ilegal? Does the chosenperason have a Resume? Can we see it? Who voted for it and against it?Is'nt Proviso Township in need of Senior services and helping the community, or is this a illegal play, and cronyism by the corrupt board!Should not one of the provisions for this job be notting be involved in local or state poltics? Do other townships have this position?

  • The illigal and corrupt move by Mr. Sloan is typical of how he works and thinks. Mr. Sloan is about bad goverment! He worked hand in hand with Convicted poticians from the township in the past,Cimino and Taddeo, and he works hand in hand with such characters as Welch,Moore,Calderon and Bruno now!He is a racist , and he is an untrustworthy person and potician! He is the most hated man in Westchester, and he was known to clock over $30,000 in OT this past year alone at his job, which is funny because he is always out and about and never seen at his work! He helped double cross Mary Herrell during the past election and he worked hard to beat the sitting Mayors of Berkely and Stone Park and LaGrange Park and Brookfield!Mr. Sloan is now trying to push for a new township building in Bellwood, and if he is successful, he and Scarlato's and Pasquale will be going to Vegas on Scarlato's dime!!! Corruption in the dictionary has a picture of Sloan! Sloan also supports Mr. Welch and will push his agenda throughout Westchester!

  • Hey is it true Sloan and Robbins collected $3,000 from the Mayor Of Melrose Park on the provision that they would take care of politically the south end of the township and once the votes were counted, it was found out that Sloan and Robbins did,nt deliver what they were paid to do? And is it true that the people running with Sloan did not know that Sloan and Robbins were paid and were supposed to be in charge of southern end of proviso?And I heard that Robbins and Sloan split up the money beteween themselves, and they only bulleted Sloan in the Southern half of Proviso! I can't believe they schookered Serpico out of the $3,000!

  • This is a made up position by Sloan to get kick backs from his hiring of Robins! Sloan will probably make $3-4,000 from this position, and will also get kick backs from other positions in the township that he gets appointed! He will aslo get paid for steering the buying of a new township bld. in Bellwood!Sloan is a typical Irish gypsy thief!Otherwise, when Sloan is drinking is not that bad of a person!

  • Tommy "sewer rat" Robbins is a very respected member of our community. He was an entrusted confidant of former Mayor Sinde who sidelined as a bagman for Material Services, and was fired from a know show job at METRA

  • Tom Robbins is a great guy, who was put in a bad position by Don Sloan! Why did Sloan not talk to othe others trustee's about how they felt about this position?Why did Sloan try to push this appointee down"every bodies throat"? Sloan is the reason the Township board id divided and dysfunctional! Slaon is a liability for the other trustee's who helped him ! Robbins is a outstanding canidate for this postion, maybe the other trusttee's can appoint Robbins into Sloan's spot as a trustee, and throw Sloan out into the gutter, where he came from and belongs!
