Emanuel Christopher Welch for state rep?

Rumor has it Emanuel Christopher Welch is circulating nominating petitions to run against Karen Yarbrough for state representative.

  • It's true. I was at Gene Moore's meeting last night, and I heard Welch himself declare himself a candidate. I must say, he gives great speeches. He called himself "A Proven Leader and A Real Democrat." What is he alluding to? Is Yarbrough not a real Democrat? I don't know much about either of them, but I wish Welch the best of luck.

  • anon 2:08, Welch speaks well, but look behind the rhetoric.

    He's a crook. He has little to no interest in serving the public and is all about cronyism, building a patronage organization and kleptocracy.

    Attend a District 209 meeting or look at a past agenda. What do you notice? The agenda is entirely about jobs and contracts. The only time Welch has mentioned anything to do with education was when he used the fig leaf of declining test scores to conceal his real reasons for firing superintendent Greg Jackson.

  • Here's why Welch will win: 1) He is articulate and a hard campaigner. 2) He has resources. 3) He has foot soldiers. 4) He has the issues.

    Here's why Yarbrough loses: 1) What has Yarbrough done? She serves a union community and has the worst voting record among active Democrats for unions. 2) She's a divider? Welch is a uniter. 3) Yarbrough has dirty laundry that will be aired in the campaign. Real dirty. 4) Folks in the 7th District and in Springfield think Yarbrough is mean, arrogant and unable or unwilling to take a side on a tough issue. 5) She's really a republican. Prediction: Welch is hedging his bets and he will win.

  • While everyone is blasting Welch, have they seen how bad Maywood is? Why is Maywood now known as Murderwood? Why has Yarbrough done nothing for her own town? If Yarbrough cared about her people, why would she let them sit on the unemployment line while their kids go unfed and uncloth? John Wicks and Antoinette Doris are loyal to Karen. However, John is a demoted security guard and Antoinette is unemployed selling mortgages out of School District 88's board resource office.

  • Here's the response to the comments about me.

    I had contempt for Eugene Moore before I ever met Karen Yarbrough. We became friends out of mutual respect and wanting to see Moore ousted.

    When Lorien Menhennett left the Forest Park Review as editor I offered Dan Haley, the publisher, a number of ideas about how to improve the FPR. One of the ideas was to create a Proviso-wide media outlet. Haley wasn't particularly interested.

    I talked to Karen Yarbrough about the idea. She referred me to the woman that publishes West Suburban Journal. I talked to the woman on the phone for 20 minutes or more.

    While we were cordial to each other, it was tense because my vision for creating a Proviso-wide media outlet was different than her vision for West Suburban Journal. Neither one of us saw much potential for working together.

    I went on to create Proviso Probe and she continued with her vision for West Suburban Journal.

    If I was going to milk my connection with Yarbrough for the big bucks, I think I'd ask for more than some freelance work with a small community newspaper.

  • Will Welch really run? Can Welch really win? Does Welch have a chance? All these questions are being discussed as what a appears to be a donnybrook election cycle in Maywood and in Proviso! Welch is running because he wants out of 209, which is worse and worse everyday! Soon the bills at 209 have to be paid, and Welch knows that and does not want to face the music ,of why the district has so much debt, due to his "drunken Silor spending "habits at 209 to build ,what he believes is his "army"of poltical patronage hirings who will work on his campaign and donate money to his run!Welch knows the game is up for him and his other 3 stooges(Adams,Matlock and Henry).He wants out because Dr. Flowers is breathing down his fat,hairless and spineless neck and will soon pounce on him!Welch knows he is hated and despised because of all the out of his way,evil tatics against his friends and foes, and he hopes that his enemies will help him beat Yarbourgh so as to get him out of 209 and out of Proviso!Welch also is running to try to save Eugene Moore's postion as Democratic committeman, and he hopes that he can convine enough disinformed voters that he is someone else other than what he has been these past 5 years!Welch has divided this Proviso community more than anyone else other than Bruno and Serpico in there haydays! Proviso Mayors will be put in difficult postions, on who to back and if they decide to stay out of it, Welch will make sure if he wins that he will hurt them poltically in the future! I believe that all elected officials in Proviso are looking at Werlch and at Moore as trying to "conquer" Proviso, and they will realize that a victory by Welch and by Moore will destroy Proviso and all the communities in Proviso! Look at the disaster that 209 is in!209 and Maywood look like they belong in Haiti and not the USA! Moore and Welch have raped and pllaged Maywood and Proviso 209 to the point of no return, and they only way they can survive would be with Fedral govt. Intervention! All elected officials will have to decide to eliminate Moore and Welch, and finally get rid of these human parasites, who remind everyone of Sadam Hussain and his sons!!!
