SPORT, post season hoops [D209]

ChicagoSports.com (Alan Sutton):
NORMAL, Ill. -- In the final year of two-class basketball in Illinois, Fenwick showed Saturday night why the Friars are in a class by themselves.

They outdefended Bolingbrook, a team known for its pressure defense, and pulled away in the fourth quarter for a 35-27 victory to win their second Class AA state championship at Redbird Arena.

Congrats to Fenwick.

Sun-Times (Craig Lynch):
After losing twice to Oak Park during the regular season, No. 20 Proviso West (21-6) broke through when it really counted Friday night. The Panthers topped the No. 13 Huskies 64-58 in Hillside.

With the win, Proviso West moves on to face top-seeded St. Joseph in the sectional semifinals Tuesday at Lyons.

The game was interrupted for pushing and shoving for seven minutes.
