Maywood and Illinois State Police officials are investigating how an undercover drug operation turned deadly last week.
Police officials said Sgt. Dwayne Wheeler was conducting a drug investigation at 17th Avenue and Harrison Street about 3 p.m. Thursday when the alleged dealer fled the scene in his Lexus, striking several cars before trying to run down the officer. Wheeler fired one shot at the vehicle, killing Fred Henderson, 35, of Bellwood, authorities said.

Around 100 people gathered in front of Maywood Police Department Sept. 25 to protest the Sept. 20 shooting death of Fred Henderson, 35, of Bellwood by a Maywood Police Sgt. Dwayne Wheeler.
What are the protesters alleging was done wrong by Wheeler or the Maywood Police Department?

Sgt. Wheeler killed an unarmed man. Next, Wheeler alleges that the vehicle came towards him in order to justify killing this man by shooting him in the left temple.

Wasn't this guy a known drug dealer openly selling?

Maywood can't have it both ways. either you gotta lock up the drug dealers or run em outta town. Get treatment help for all the people thats strung out or let the gangs have the town and everybody shut the fuck up.
if Wheelers a bad cop then deal with that. Drug dealing ain't welcome in Mawood or Bellwood and thats that.
I hear that Wheeler is a dirty cop too but if sombody points a car at me I'm shooting him and so are you.

A protest against police brutality has been scheduled in Maywood at the police station at 10am.
All of the gang-bangers/drug dealers from Chicago will be on hand along with Eric Stith from Ford Desired Realty Company of Chicago. He is also a former Maywood trustee.
Stith has long battled his dependancy on crack and has no credibility whatsoever. Once a bright and promising young man, Stith is used as a mouth piece/campaigner by anyone who will give him a pipe, a sandwich or a place to lay his head.
Sadly, the aging unhealthy young man needs rehab. Those who use him are guilty of abuse and are the worse bloodsuckers of the community.

the man shot and killed is the father to my son whom was 8 months old. drug dealer or not being taken away from his kids is not justifyable.
