A07, PMSA to host candidate forum [D209]
Proviso Highlighter 2 has the when and where of a forum for District 209 school board candidates. The forum will be hosted by the PMSA Parent-Teacher-Student Association.
Thursday, April 12 at 7 PM
Proviso Math and Science Academy auditorium
PMSA is on the northeast corner of First Ave & Roosevelt Rd
Here are the candidates:
Cox, Foreman and Carla D. Johnson are the Proviso First Party slate backed by school board president Chris Welch and his political allies.
Harris, Kelly and McDermott are the Education Reformers slate back by State Rep. and Democratic Committeeman Karen Yarbrough and school board member Charles Flowers. Kelly is the only incumbent running for re-election.
The remaining three candidates are presumed to be committed to supporting the status quo by voting for Welch. Boyd is a former school board member from Westchester. Craig is the mother of Welch's nephew. Janice Johnson is a flunky for Bellwood village president Frank Pasquale.
What do you want the candidates to be asked at the forum?
BTW, is anybody planning to record the forum on DVD? I'd love to see it posted to You Tube.

How much has each of you contributed or raised for the campaign? Who else has raised money for your campaign? How much?

Terrase Craig, are you the mother of Chris Welch's nephew? Are you an employee at District 209?
Won't your votes be primarily cast from the perspective of being a relative of the board president and an employee of the district? How is it not a conflict of interest for you to be on the board?

Robin Foreman, your niece, Nikita Johnson, is one of the most senior administrators in the district. Should voters be concerned that your judgment about what is good for the district will be optimized around what is good for your niece?
Since Nikita Johnson has joined District 209, has she dated or been in a relationship with school board president Chris Welch?

Did you get cash advances for these trips? Have all these travel claims been resolved to the satisfaction of District 209?

Kevin McDermott, you're a "White" guy without children running for the school board of a district that is primarily Black and Latino.
Why should voters believe you will understand the best interests of the students and enact policy that serves the students?

You have never been married and you have 3 children by 3 different men, including one by Eugene Moore's son, Eric Moore.
With that said, do you see yourself as a good example and a role model for the young women in District 209?
Carla,
You currently hold a paid position as the Executive Assistant to Senator Kimberly Lightford. Is it true that you are on Maywood public housing and public aid? In dollars, how much tax payer funded public assistance did you receive in 2005 and 2006? Does your salary from Senator Lightford fall within the guidelines to qualify you for public assistance?

Is it true that you witnessed the “drug related” killing of your ex-boyfriend in an apartment that you two shared? Is it true that not only did you witness the killing; you stayed in the apartment while the perpetrators removed furniture from the apartment as a payoff for your boyfriend’s debts?

I am amazed to see the desperate actions taken by Welch and Moore with there video attacking Theresa Kelly!! They must be very scared and afraid of losing all there power and contracts and hush money. What really amazed me was that the video was done by Ashley-Daniels publcity firm, and the voice of Robin Leach was of Brian Cross!!!!
Does'nt Brian Cross know what will happen to him and his political future and his lifen with all this hate and going out of his way to hurt people,older women, who have never harmed him??? Bad vibes brings bad vibes!!!Cross your a coward, I can't believe you went to catholic scvhool and i CAN'T believe you have stooped so low, I guess you worse than a loser, you just a failure as a man and as a human being!!!
