GOV, tonight's school board meeting [D209]

Tonight Proviso Township High Schools (District 209) Board of Education held a regular meeting. I did not attend, but I'm sure people will have comments.

* Contracts for student residency investigation services
* Evaluation of ex-session minutes

What is the goal of the student residency investigation services? For every student removed from District 209 over residency issues the district loses the per student money it gets from the State of Illinois.

Doesn't it seem unusual that all the minutes of all the closed session meetings (going back to the beginning of 2005) still need to be kept confidential?

  • Carl, you need to disable the comment moderation or update your comments on at least every other hour. Stop letting Chris Welch the Proviso Insider get to you. Welch need to be EXPOSED on a regular basis. Can't you see you fell into his little trap by calling your blog filthy.

  • I'm not wild about moderating comments either.

    But it's a lot less work to moderate them when they go up instead of after they have been posted.

    Do a few reliable people want to volunteer to help with comment moderation?

    Thanks Carl.

    First of all for the record that is so distorted by the Welch insider, Dorris and Wicks did not have to be invited to the Bellwood First meeting, they are "Members" of Bellwood First and have been since it`s conception by the Mayor. Dorris and Wicks have supported the Mayor and his efforts upon him taking the Mayors seat. Secondly, I have been in Bellwood fopr over twenty years and when those two young people got on that school board they have been above board on issues concerning children and education. Myself along with more than 90% of the residents in the room on monday night support Dorris and Wicks for re-election to the school board. Just because the Mayor is running his own ticket does not mean we are machine stamped voters. Most of us are upset because he has turned his back on two of the most loyal of our young supporters of the Bellwood First Pary. They have volunteered at all of the Family Day Picnics, they have been involved on the Christmas Day train rides, they have supported the Valentine Day senior dance, they have even been consistant foot soldiers when it came time to go door to door with Bellwod First lit pieces.And stop the bullshit Welch, Dorris and wicks did not come to the meeting to get petitions signed. Truth be told they were done with petitions months ago because I helped them go door to door and get legitamate voter signatures. And who are these new commers that the Mayor is forcing down our throats? Where did they come from? Have they supporte the Bellwod First team in the past? The biggest question that I have that the Mayor has not shared with us yet is WHY? Why not Dorris and Wicks who are loyal supporters of this Bellwod first Party Organization....

    Good luck Dorris, Wicks, & Smith...We support you because you support us and you all are good for Education. Stay honest and true.You have the votes from the real Bellwood First Party.

    I WAS AT THAT MEETING ALSO AND I WAS REALLY CONFUSED. I THOUGHT THAT WICKS AND DORRIS WERE FULLY SUPPORTED BY THE MAYOR OF BELLWOOD , MALROSE PARK , AND STONE PARK. WILL SOMEBODY PLEASE EXPLAIN WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!! THE MAYOR OF BELLWOOD WILL NOT HAVE SUPPORT FOR THIS NEW SCHOOL TEAM AND IF HE KEEPS ON PUTING OUR YOUNG BLACK LEADERS ON THE BACK BURNER THEN WE JUST NEED TO FIND US A NEW MAYOR FOR THE VILLAGE OF BELLWOOD. NOW THATS SOME FOOD FOR THOUGHT.
