N06, Illinois Republican Congressman to quit election

I just don't know which one. See Archpundit.

[UPDATE: This is inaccurate. No Illinois members of Congress are resigning. For the details see Archpundit or Capitol Fax Blog.]

  • It's Jerry Weller. It seems like he had a page issue. This is a map (pdf) of the district.

John Pavich is the Democrat running against Weller.

  • John Pavich is not a good candidate.

  • Why isn't John Pavich a good candidate?

  • Carl - what's your source? What do you mean it "seems like he had a page issue?"

Secondly, when a candidate has 42% name ID, and only an 11% favorability rating, they are obviously not a good candidate.

And Durbin is wrong to make too much about money. It's a terrible year for Republicans, Weller has spent far less this cycle than last while Pavich has spent far more than the 04 Dem nominee - and even if all undecideds in the most recent poll break his way, Pavich will merely match the 04 result.

He's a bad candidate, because he doesn't understand, let alone represent, the values and interests of the District in which he is running.

  • Nyberg,
It's time you take what tiny shred may be left of your dignity and acknowledge that this "rumor" just isn't true. Rich Miller has called you out, Nyberg. You sure you want to build this reputation?

  • Pavich ignores the substantially rural nature of the district. He may get more votes than Profesor Renner, but not much.

I echo what Grand Old Partisan said.

  • Carl - you've been unanimously taken to task for your irresponsible behaviour. An apology is in order.

Also, you should set the record straight. Your post says that the resignation is inaccurate, when in fact, the salient point is your irresponsible slander is untrue.

  • Carly, you don't need to say sorry.

You do need to disclose who was pushing this false story on you (and then us).

Rich Miller, the Kankakee Journal all talk about the Democrats who were pushing this.

How about some names? You didn't dream this up yourself.
