MEDIA, Arnie Bryant's show

Bishop Mullins and I will appear as guests on Arnie Bryant's show on Saturday at 2 PM on WJJG, 1530 AM. We will discuss the positive things that government can do to make Proviso a better place.

  • I wrote some notes on Bishop Mullins question this morning.

    First, Proviso and its villages need a vision for the future.

    When Arnie Bryant talked about when Maywood was the jewel of Proviso in the distant past, he made it clear that many people have a reactionary vision for Maywood. They want Maywood to reclaim some past glory.

    But if you want your community to be great, you need to persuade people of a vision that makes sense given the current situation.

    Look at communities like Oak Park, Forest Park, or in DuPage county where housing values are going up. Are these communities governing themselves based on reclaiming the good stuff from the past?

    Not really. They plan for better futures based on their current situations.

    The one thing I thought of that could completely change Proviso is creating a Proviso College for 3-6,000 students.

  • How about an open discussion on the merits of appointing that distinguished Latino leader, Dr. Frank Yanez M.D. onto the Townships Mental Health Board (as it was discussed in earlier Bloggs) and naming Mike Manzo as its’ Director?

    An evaluation of Mike’s impeccable credentials and extensive background in the mental health field would show that the current board made a big mistake by passing him up earlier this year when the position was available.

    Wouldn’t the doctor’s selection to the mental health board assure that this past mistake would be rectified?

    Who makes the board appointments to the mental health board? By the way, what college or university did the doctor graduate from?

    This would make for some very attention-grabbing dialogue, wouldn’t it?

  • I suspect the method of getting IP addresses is legal, but you can research it.

    I think it's kinda shitty to try to intimidate people by saying I know your IP address.

    But the IP address probably can't be cross referenced to an individual account without help from the service provider.

    If I'm correct, your privacy is prob safe if you are posting from a private account. If you are posting from work--especially if you work for the gov't--you should expect Moore & Welch can figure what computer you are using.
