ED, what would you ask Bob Libka? [D209]
At the Welch campaign kick-off Bob Libka complained about my most recent column in the Forest Park Review. He said it wasn't balanced. One of his principals calls me a "racist" and Libka whines about balanced coverage.
Maybe Angela McGee can hold training on the concept, "first do no harm."
What would you ask Libka about District 209?

One of the questions I asked Libka was about how permissive transfer will work if PMSA is the only D209 school meeting NCLB objectives.
Will all D209 students that want to go to the PMSA be entered into a lottery?
Libka didn't know the answer off the top of his head.

I've heard this debated a couple times.
Was it appropriate or inappropriate for Libka to appear at a Welch campaign function?
By Carl Nyberg, at 4:16 PM, November 14, 2005
Why would it be inappropriate? It was his day off,and he has a constitutional right to support who he wants to support. Right Carl? Also, was it appropriate for Karen to have her formal announcement at the Bellwood Village Hall? Didn't that violate the State Ethics law?

where is the money from the 40 mil. dollar bond for Proviso East and West? When the Board floated that bond, they promised $ for the other 2 schools, but nobody has seen any changes or upgrades at East or West.

To the fan of Libka and Welch, Mr. Libka needs to be getting his proper certification before he should get a job for CEO of the failing Proviso High School district! Mr. Libka and Mr. Welch are only padding Libka's retirement pension plan, and that is why Libka is selling out the teachers and students of Proviso! Welch needs to be covered for his ineptitude and needs a white administrator to clean his mess up!Should'nt Lightford or Yarbrough make a public stink about his postion being unwarrented? Shouls they bring the media into looking into his hiring and question the 4 board members who voted for his promotion, without proper qualifications? Where is Yarbrough and Lightford, and why don't they get invloved? Why has the Sun-times or Tribune not been called and they hold a press conferance denouncing these hirings that smack of illegality and robbery? Is it because nobody cares about a school which is 95% minority and run by high school flunkies?Proviso represents and is a reflection of the community, which is misinformed, corrupt and suffers from a poverty of ideas, community service and is called a "GHETTO"! Welcome to the first Suburban Ghetto of the 21st century in Chicago! Thanks for this goes out to all the mayors, elected officials and to the resdidents of Proviso!

If I was advising Yarbrough I would have told her to have her campaign event at a private venue or a more open public venue, like a park.
But she didn't ask me.

Good question Laquita abbout our state officials. I was at a event where Sharp went on and on about Lighfoot being the head of education at the state. How can this pillage and plunder go on like this in Proviso with her being in charge of education? An investigation is certainly warrented with the things you stated. I don't know Bob Lipka but I know if he was black he wouldn't have that job. And under pinned by a black woman. SHame.

I would ask LIBKA, where are the weapons of mass destruction?
Libka's Response: "Well I believe they are in Proviso Township on 5th avenue maybe, but wait I will have to ask Mr. Welch first."

"First do no harm" means that it's better not to antagonize the people reporting on you.
