rant about girls playing baseball and the electric car

I never saw the documentary Who Killed the Electric Car?. See Wikipedia for more info.

But it seems like that if a Black man can get elected President of the United States and a 16-year old Japanese girl can get drafted to pitch professional baseball (see International Herald Tribune (AP)) then somewhere in the United States or the international capitalist system there ought to be money to invest in a promising electric car (Tesla Motors).

Rich people invest money in shitty movies that lose money all the time. Surely after the Republicans pushed through all those tax cuts for the wealthy the rich are going to invest their money in projects that uplift society, right? It's not all going to be spent by the next generation of Paris Hiltons, right?

I was hoping to find some video of Eri Yoshida pitching. I didn't find one, but I did find this.

press conference and some few seconds of her pitching. google on her name, but do advanced search with language=Japanese.

    Also her wikipedia page is
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eri_Yoshida

from which you can cut and paste her name 吉田 えり,into google.

here's some more showing her pitching in slow motion, and pitching a strike against a batter at what looks like a tryout.
