MEDIA, if she were "White" they'd care [B]
Here are a couple more stories on Olamide "Ola" Adeyooye, the Berkeley native who has been reported missing: Western Courier of WIU (James Kimberly, Chicago Tribune) and Pioneer Press (John Huston).
Click on the link for the Western Illinois University paper. Look at Adeyooye's picture. You know, if she was "White" the story would already be national news.

Carl, do you know why the Normal police say that "Foul play is not suspected?"

ABC has a headline saying "Foul Play Suspected in College Student's Disappearance".
I suspect the default for a missing person is "foul play not suspected" until something concrete emerges. This is prob b/c most missing persons do not involve "foul play".
Just speculating...

Well, you are absolutely right, if they really do suspect foul play, this would be ALL OVER THE NATIONAL NEWS. I wonder if police are slow to "decide" if this is foul play or not, also because she's "not white"?
